Knotting is a traditional technique for stringing pearls and gemstones into jewelry strands. 

In this class we will be knotting with gemstones.  You will learn the basic technique and then it's practice, practice, practice to master this elegant stringing technique.

April 9th

Wire Crochet Embellishment

Ready for a little challenge.  Let's try crochet with wire.  We'll take a crochet embellishment normally created in yarn and crochet it in wire.  Students should have a basic understanding of single crochet and may learn the half double crochet and double crochet.  Students will begin the project in class and finish it on their own.

Square Knot Beads

 

Macrame isn't just for plant hangers, friendship bracelets, or large hammocks anymore!   Using a basic knot, we'll make lovely beads that can be used in handmade jewelry.  Students will use various types of thread to knot around a wire core to create their beads.

Shibori is an ancient Japanese dying process that uses twisting, stitching, pulling, and binding of fabric to create texture and pattern with color.
