First let me wish everyone  Ramadan kareem, and I would also like to take this opportunity to emphasize looking after yourself physically as well as spiritually during this holy month.

 

This month I am very excited to announce the addition of two new group classes; TRX Core Circuit suspension training making us the only ladies gym equipped with a TRX studio in Dubai. We are also adding  Body Rip straight from the US this class is a barbell toning class, both are a great addition to our August Ramadan group fitness schedule. I really hope to see you all keeping fit.

 

Check out the schedule on our website or pick one up at reception. There is something for all our ladies whether they are housewives, employees  or those who have broken their fast and attended prayer.

Through casual conversations and comprehensive discussions with women, I have found that there are many misconceptions reiterated by fitness novices and experts alike.

While these misconceptions surely exist among men, they seem more common among women. Perpetuated by the media, fads, and fashion magazines that carelessly dispense fitness advice, these mistakes are almost ingrained and therefore hard to shake. Below is my response.

 Our society loves beauty. The most beautiful bodies are lean, symmetrical and firm, or in one word - buff. So why do we see so many women starving themselves trying to be skinny? Lack of knowledge is the epidemic.

The problem is too much focus has been placed on dieting and doing cardio, and not enough importance placed on weight training. Most women don't understand that weight training is how they can shape their bodies, into the buff bodies they want.
