Are You Attending Breeders' Cup?
Our recent website poll featured the question, Which of these possibles (of the horses listed) are Washington-connected? Those of you who answered "Some of the above" are correct.
The Washington-connected runners are Smiling Tiger (WTBOA-sold), Atta Boy Roy (Washington-bred and owned, WTBOA-sold), Blind Luck (Washington-owned), Wonderlandbynight (Washington-owned), Bourbon Bay (Washington-owned) and Mine That Bird (immediate family member of the owner is a Washingtonian).
The lone runner who is not Washington-connected is Musket Man, although he has ties to the Pacific Northwest, as one of the owning partners is from Oregon.
Are you attending the Breeders' Cup this year? If so, would you be willing to be contacted by writer Ed Kane and/or photographer John Kaiser for a quote and/or photo at Breeders' Cup? If you would like to be contacted, please let us know how you can be reached while you are in Louisville by sending your contact information to [email protected].
Thanks, and whether you wish to be contacted or not, enjoy your trip!
Atta Boy Roy Update

Washington champion Atta Boy Roy is scheduled to have two works prior to starting in the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) at Churchill Downs on November 6. R.E.V. Racing's prized runner came out of the Woodford Stakes (G3) - a 5 1/2-furlong grass sprint at Keeneland on October 9 - in good shape.

"He has done really well since that race," said trainer Valorie Lund. "The timing of the [Woodford] was right, but after [finishing eighth in] the race, he told me 'No grass and don't run me in the Turf Sprint.'"

Churchill Downs is the site of Atta Boy Roy's biggest win to date, in the Grade 2 Churchill Downs Stakes last May. The 2006 WTBOA Summer Yearling graduate will take a record of 10-6-0 with earnings of $479,696 into the championship race, his 23rd start. The five-year-old ridgeling son of Tribunal-Irish Toast, by Synastry, was bred by Patricia Murphy and Rick and Debbie Pabst.
