Noel in the New Year

As we move into the New Year, it's a good time to reflect on the changes that have transpired in the life of our church.  Growth has abounded in so many areas, the Children's Building has undergone an amazing transformation, the Adult Learning Center has doubled in size to become the largest of its kind in the area, and the Noel Community Arts Program continues to inspire through music and art, just to name a few. As we look ahead, there is a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation for the plans God has in store for the future.

In case you missed the privilege of hearing former Finance Committee Chair, Kenny Morrow speak about Noel's financial status, here is a recap of his report given at the Church Council meeting on January 18, once again reassuring, we are on the right path.

For 2010, we spent slightly less than we budgeted and received slightly more than we anticipated, therefore we ended 2010 with a surplus.  Rachel Scott, Minister of Service and Outreach, also reported that she was able to identify approximately 5,000 families or individuals that were touched by the ministries of Noel in 2010.  This is a very good thing.

We had a very successful Stewardship Campaign with over 30 families submitting pledge cards for the first time and over 90 other families increasing their pledge from 2010.  This says a lot about the health of our church.

Finally, a budget for 2011 was presented to and approved by the Church Council.  This budget is an increase of approximately 7.4% over the 2010 budget.  This says a lot about the growth of our church.

The generosity of Noel and the grace of God has triumphed once again.  Thanks to everyone who truly realized and continues to realize the joy of giving.  And a special thanks to all of those individuals, paid and volunteer, that daily transform that money into ministry.

Growing in God,

Kenny Morrow
