On behalf of Noel Church, we wish to extend a special thank you to Howard and Jackie Hines for coordinating this year's Easter Meal Celebration.  It was a day filled with laughter, wonderful food, fellowship, and musical entertainment.  Thank you to all those who volunteered, brought desserts, cooked chicken, served and cleaned, and on and on. Together, we served almost 900 people! It takes a whole church to make this the wonderful outreach that it is.  Thank you!!!!!!!

Care team reaches out

Friendly Circle

The Noel Care Team had its first official meeting on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. in the Rasmussen Classroom.  The goal of this weekly Wednesday meeting is to have a central hub to connect all of Noel's care-related ministries, such as hospital visits, homebound visits, and communion, into one group that shares, prays and responds in compassion to those in need of our attention.

If you are interested in joining this group, there are a couple of ways to do so.  If you are able to attend the weekly meetings, hear the list of concerns for the week, and offer to write notes, phone, or visit someone, we are happy to have you.  If you  are not able to attend the meetings, but are interested in  reaching out to the people on our list, you can do that too.  We need all the help we can get, as the joys and concerns never cease.

If you would like more information on the Noel Care Team, please call the church office at 221-5207.

If you have joys or concerns that you would like the Care Team to know about, send your requests to careteam@noelumc.org, call the church office at 221-5207, or click on Prayer Requests on our website, www.noelumc.org.

Youth lock-in!

  yOUTH lOCK IN

Adult Volunteers run at the mention of those three AWE-ful words, when entire Youth lacrosse teams flock to the church at the announcement of the never-fail crowd-pleaser......the YOUTH LOCK-IN!!! What is it about an all-nighter at the church that causes such excitement? Well, to me a Church Lock-In carries with it similar, mysterious qualities to that of a mission trip.  What happens when you get on that bus and head to a destination far away from your home that causes such bonding to take place? The answer is a mystery, but it's success is undeniable. We didn't go anywhere on March 17.  We simply closed the doors to the church at 10 p.m. and didn't open them again until 7 a.m., but while inside we went on a wild ride from start to finish.  We began the night with a contest. Three value meals from local fast food restaurants were each separately placed in a blender and puréed.  Who could guess which one was McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy's? A $5 gift card was awarded to a guest, Harrison Hadel, who guessed all three correctly.  The rest of the night was filled with everything from games of hide and seek and trench ball to seeking to commune with God through midnight communion and a labyrinth walk.  And while we had no takers on the $10 gift card for whoever was brave enough to eat the mixed-up value meal, we did have a great time from start to finish.  All I can say is, you just had to see it to believe it.  Thanks to Pastor Warren Clifton, Macy Stockton and her Centenary friends, Kayla and Jay, for braving the night with us.  We couldn't have done it without you!

Long live the Youth Lock-In!

In Christ,
