OUR PASTOR RETURNS FROM INDIA

The 2011 Pastor's Conference in Aurangabad, India was a great time of Christian fellowship and study of God's word. The facilities will only accommodate 170 and that is how many pastors traveled up to 18 hours in order to attend. The focus this year was an expository study through the book of James. Wellington began this living link ministry in 2007 and each year for the past five years the course notes have been left with the Life Light Ministry to be translated into Marathi and distributed to the pastors for teaching in their local congregations.
This lady, who attends each year, heads up a prison ministry to hundreds who are incarcerated in Mumbai.
This is one of the pastors who has a Master of Divinity degree from the seminary in Pune, but who will use the course material not only in his congregation, but in the Bible College where he teaches.
Wellington also supports the teaching and training of orphans for ministry. There are currently 72 orphans (36 girls and 36 boys). This mission outreach is in need of any and all support that we can provide. If you would like to make a contribution please place your gift in the white container on the visitor table. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at lwayne@qx.net. Your prayers and support are not only badly needed but greatly appreciated. Wayne Holcomb Pastor |

New Sunday Morning Classes
 THE GOD WHO IS THERE
- BEGINS MARCH 13, 9:30
Is your Bible a mysterious book of obscure language that you know should be vitally important to you but you find very challenging to understand? Or difficult to start reading and relate its importance to you personally? Have you begun reading your Bible and find yourself at a loss to explain how it all ties together? If you would like some insight on how to answer these questions, join us for a study of D. A. Carson's book, The God Who is There. Whether you are new to the Bible or somewhat familiar with it already, this study offers some insights on how to approach the Bible with greater understanding. D. A. Carson provides a wonderful way to relate to the Bible by reflecting on the nature and consistency of God's message to us. With the author as a guide, we'll look at selected passages, understand the message in each, and then relate that understanding to the context of the entire Bible. If you would like to build or refine an understanding of how we can relate to the Bible, how the Bible relates specifically to us, and how its timeless wisdom tells us how we should relate to each other, this study is for you.
 IF GOD IS GOOD
- BEGINS MARCH 13, 9:30
The reality of evil and suffering is not only our culture's biggest objection to faith in God, but also a piercing thrust into the soul of every believer at some point in their lives. Those facts compel us to prepare in order to handle the doubts and questions that roll over us like a storm tide whenever we confront the worst of pain, malice, and injuustice. This study uses Randy Alcorn's book If God is Good: Faith in the Midst of Suffering and Evil which helps you gain perspective on suffering and God's unfailing goodness.
On this troubling but inescapable topic, you'll find frank acknowledgment of the inherent limitations that set humanity apart from the God who has none. There's also generous, real encouragement that brings God nearer in our understanding when we need His comfort the most. And amid our heavy doubts and swirling confusion on this topic, we must ultimately fix our eyes toward Jesus as "the only answer bigger than the questions."

 SUNDAY NIGHTS ARE THRIVING!
On February 6 we kicked off several new opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship.
The Awana Clubs continue Sunday at 5:45 p.m. Our Awana club is growing! We now have more than 50 children coming to learn God's word on Sunday nights. If you are interested registering your children or helping with this exciting ministry, please contact Kim Sutherlin at 421-7668.
Our Student Ministries have just returned from the Focus Conference 2011 with renewed energy as they study Colossians (Sunday mornings at 9:30) and The Obedience Option (Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m.).
We also have two classes for adults or parents at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday nights. Adam Stowe is presenting a class on the The Biblical roles of Manhood and Womanhood and Justin Shriver is teaching through God's Heart for the Nations from Genesis to Revelation. Both of these classes are wonderful opportunities and we hope you will take advantage of them.
There is also still time to join the choir! We are preparing for a Resurrection morning celebration, April 24. But choir is so much more than just singing on Sundays. Our rehearsal times are filled with genuine and rich fellowship as we come alongside one another in times of rejoicing and times of need, praying for one another and serving one another. We also are reaching out to those in need in our congregation and in the community through service projects that are designed to build relationships. Join us on Sundays at 4:30!

EGG HUNT - APRIL 23, 1:00 p.m.
This is a wonderful time for families to come out and watch the kids faces as they search for candy filled eggs. Our children director, Tanya Holcomb, also tells the story of the events leading up to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. While the kids will be excited to find some goodies in their eggs, they will also be reminded that the tomb is empty! He is Risen!
Invite your friends and family to join us for a powerful weekend of remembrance beginning with the egg hunt on Saturday and a special Resurrection service at 10:30 the following morning. Let's reach out to our community to proclaim the good news that Jesus is alive!

We have some great news to share. The best news anyone can hear. But they cannot hear if someone does not tell them. Be encouraged to proclaim that which you believe. That Jesus Christ died, was buried and resurrected on the third day to satisfy the just wrath of Holy God so that we might be reconciled to Him. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, that we are saved. Like Paul in Galatians 6 let us glory and rejoice in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (vs. 14).

Student Ministries - Focus 2011 This past weekend 11 of our high school students and 3 volunteers were able to attend an amazing conference in Asheville, North Carolina. The students were challenged throughout the weekend to ask and answer two important questions: 1. Do you know Jesus Christ? 2. Is Jesus Christ supreme in your life? The speaker taught us from Colossians 1:15-20 why Jesus Christ must be supreme in our lives, from John 3:1-10 on what must take place for Jesus Christ to be supreme in our lives and from I Corinthians 10:1-13 on how to keep Jesus Christ supreme in our lives on a daily basis. It was incredibly encouraging to see the students following along in their Bible's, taking notes and then really seeking to apply what they learned to their lives. I am so thankful for all of our students and for the privilege of being able to play a small part in taking them to conferences like this and being able to regularly teach them God's Word. | | Thank you for your prayers and support. |
