Merry Christmas
star of Bethlehem

Wellington wishes you and your family a Merry Christmas and invites you to join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 as we gather for worship in adoration of our Savior, Lord and King.  Each Christmas we are reminded of the sacrifice Christ made when He came to earth for the purpose of reconciling men with a holy God by satisfying the just wrath we deserve as sinners.

So it is with great joy that we come offering our lives to the One who gave His. We hope that you and your family will join us at 10:30 a.m.to celebrate and worship Emmanuel, "God with us".

The Word Became Flesh

Helen Keller once said: The only blind person at Christmas time is he who has not Christ in his heart.

The early church refused to celebrate the birthday of Apollo (mythological god of sun rays) on December 25 (Winter Solstice) as did others within the Roman Empire, but chose instead to commune with the Lord in worship to celebrate the Incarnation of Christ, "The Light" John said Who came to "give light to every man" (1:9).

No Sunday School next two weeksNew
We will not meet for the 9:30 christian education classes December 26 and January 2. The classes will resume January 9. We will gather at 10:30 for worship.

If you have yet to be a part of the classes we invite you to use the new year as a time to take advantage of in depth biblical teaching. There are currently two adult classes being offered; Answers from Scripture taught by our pastor Wayne Holcomb and Anchored in Grace taught by Kevin Cooper.

Also our Sunday evening activities will resume in February 2011.

There will be a training session mid January for those who desire to participate in this ministry to our kids.
Giving

We are thankful for what the Lord has given us at Wellington and are confident He will provide through His people that we might continue to obediently make disciples through the faithful teaching of His Word.  Many lives were transformed last year as the result of the Lord working through His Word at Wellington. Thank you for your faithful participation and contribution with finances, time, talent, and prayer to this ministry.  It is a pleasure serving Him together with you.

The leadership would like to ask you to prayerfully consider making an extra gift this Christmas that will help eliminate the $35,000 shortfall.  We will provide an updated financial report along with the budget needs for 2011 in January.  As always, a detailed budget is available through contacting the church office.

May the Lord continue to richly bless you,

The finance ministry team

I look forward to seeing each of you this Sunday and thank you for your faithfulness as we complete another year. I hope that you will begin 2011 with a renewed commitment.
Sincerely,

Wayne Holcomb
