An Amazing Comeback for a Championship!!!
It was a very, very good weekend for MHS as our football team captured the MIAA Division II Super Bowl Championship Saturday at Gillette Stadium by defeating Reading High School, 29-26. The game will no doubt will go down in the books as one of the all-time great Mansfield wins, as the squad was down by 19 at the half, 26-7. In the second half, the Hornet defense pitched a shutout, led by key plays from seniors Dave Eberhart, Joe Oram, Mike Mallon and junior Dan Gilmore. The offense was led by junior QB George Busharis (8 for 14, 232 yds. 1 TD, 2 int), senior RB Jamal Marshal (18 carries, 91 yds., 2 TDs), and senior WR Jeff Hill (5 rec., 191 yds., 2 TDs).
For more information on the game, including many photos and video highlights, please visit the MHS Football web site. Congratulations to this outstanding squad, particularly the seniors who consistently led with character. Congrats also to Head Coach Mike Redding and his coaching staff on their 6th Super Bowl championship! |

Concert to Support MHS Hockey is this Sunday, 12/12
Ornament, Southern New England's Premier Rock Orchestra, will present a concert entitled "A Tribute to the Trans Siberian Orchestra" in the main auditorium of Mansfield High School on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 4:00 pm.
The concert is sponsored by the Mansfield Ice Hockey Boosters. Ornament, an eleven-piece rock orchestra currently in their fifth year of touring, presents the music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra (TSO). Reproducing the actual shows performed by TSO on a smaller scale, they include narration, lights, smoke machines, lasers, and snow machines. Using music and narration to tell a story of the true meaning of Christmas, the show helps us all remember what the holiday season is truly about. This is a show appreciated by all ages and uses traditional holiday carols and songs sung to rock, blues and gospel music.
In the spirit of the holiday season, the concert will help raise funds to help support the MHS ice hockey team. The Ornament concert will begin at 4:00pm, with doors opening at 3:30pm. Tickets are $15 per person in advance and at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased by calling Joe at either (508) 922-7230 or (508) 339-7650. For more info or ticket sales, please visit the Ornament website at www.ornamentband.com. |
