From the Principal's Desk...
 Dear MHS Families:
Good morning, and welcome to a new week! Just a couple of reminders.... This week marks the halfway point of the first trimester. Thus, progress reports will be sent home with students this Thursday, 10/21. Also on Thursday, our annual Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 12:00 noon-2:30 pm and 6:30-8:30 pm. They will also be held the evening of Thursday, 10/28 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please make sure that your son/daughter books appointment times with his/her teachers. If you need an extra appointment sheet, you may print one out by clicking here. Second, I would like to announce that the first meeting of the MHS Parent Advisory Council will be this coming Monday, October 25 at 7:00 pm in the MHS library. The Parent Advisory Council is a group that is open to all MHS parents as it is a monthly forum for parents to learn more about MHS and discuss substantive issues regarding our school community. Our meeting on 10/25 will include a presentation on the most current student achievement data (MCAS, SATs, AP scores, etc.). If you are interested in attending, please e-mail me so I may plan appropriately. Cordially,
Joseph Maruszczak, Ed.D. Principal |
MHS Percussion Ensemble Thanks the Mansfield YMCA
The students of the Mansfield High School Percussion Ensemble held a fundraiser this past Friday night at the Mansfield YMCA. In an event completely organized by the students of the percussion ensemble, local bands got together and performed to raise money for the percussion ensemble's upcoming 2011 season. Through the student's efforts, they were able to raise over $900 to benefit the ensemble. Thank you to the Mansfield YMCA for allowing us to host this event in their facility and congratulations to the students for planning this great fundraiser! |
MHS Student Newspaper Goes to the Web
In order to put out a timely product in a more cost-efficient manner, the MHS student newspaper will no longer be in print form. The new paper, entitled The Hornet Buzz, will be on the web and may be found at www.hornetbuzz.org. As usual, the paper will feature school news, announcements, features, and commentary. Best of luck to all of the student journalists and faculty advisor Mrs. Karen Kenter-Potty with this new endeavor! |
