Volunteers Needed for Mansfield Haunted Hollows
Mansfield Haunted Hollows is now recruiting high school students to participate in our outdoor haunting event. We are looking for high school students to be tour guides, act in one of our six scenes, or roam around in one of our mazes and scare guests. We are having six performances on the nights of October 15th, 16th, 22th, 23th, 29th, and 30th from 7pm - 10pm. The volunteers can participate in one or all six performances. This is a wonderful opportunity to receive service hours and to participate in a fun community project. All of the proceeds for the event will go to the Mansfield Animal Shelter. In the past two years, Mansfield Haunted Hollows has donated over $20,000 to the Mansfield Animal Shelter. We are having an information meeting on Tuesday, September 28th at 2pm in the high school cafeteria for all high school students who are interested in volunteering. For additional information, please visit our website at www.mansfieldhauntedhollows.com. |
Hornet Football Team Has Memorable Trip to NY
The 2010 MHS Football Team travelled to upstate New York the first school weekend to visit some college campuses and participate in two football games against Aquinas Institute of Rochester, NY. The team left Thursday morning and visited Syracuse University for practice at the Carrier Dome to prepare for the games. Later that night, Mansfield and Aquinas shared a pre-game pasta dinner provided by the Aquinas Booster's Club. On Friday night the team played Aquinas Institute, currently ranked as the #1 team in the state of New York, at the the new Wegman stadium, a multimillion dollar facility. Although Mansfield lost the game to the very talented and experienced "Lil Irish," the team will be well prepared for the Hockomock League from this outstanding competition. On Saturday, the JV team played at Aquinas before heading back home.
On the return trip home the team visited the campus of Hobart College and watched Hobart host Dickinson College of Pennsylvania in the first game ever played at Hobart's new stadium. The players represented the school and community in a first-class manner throughout the trip and Aquinas is very excited to play here next year for Mansfield's 2011 home opener on Alumni Field. |
