All student athletes who plan on playing participating in the following fall sports: cheerleading, cross-country, field hockey, golf soccer, and volleyball must attend our annual fall pre-season meeting the night of
Monday, June 21. A parent MUST attend with the student. If the student- athlete has a conflict, a parent must still attend, as this will be their only opportunity to meet with the fall coaches.
The evening will start in the
MHS Auditorium at
6:30pm. We will review the athletic handbook, with a focus on chemical health, academics, school attendance, athletic eligibility, user fees, captain's
expectations, physical exams, parental permission forms, and student-athlete conduct.
The Mansfield High School Athletics Department has purchased IMPACT, a concussion evaluation software. ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is the first, most-widely used, and most scientifically-validated computerized concussion evaluation system. A sports-medicine MD will give a brief presentation on this system.
The MHS All-Sports Booster Club will also give a short presentation, as they will need your ongoing support in 2010-11.
After the opening in the auditorium, parents and athletes will meet with their respective fall coaches to cover expectations for the upcoming season as well as set rosters.
