Notice - Pumps Shipped Loose:
Pumps for all Space Heating (SH) hot water boilers will now be shipped loose instead of mounted on the boiler. We have always shipped DHW pumps loose, and will now do the same for SH pumps. Strapped to the boiler skid will be a box with the pump, check valve, pipe fittings, and very simple instructions on how to mount it to the boiler.
This is being done for a couple of reasons:
1. It will eliminate the risk of the pump and fittings getting knocked loose during shipping and/or moving the boilers in and around the boiler room, which can result in leaks.
2. Sometimes the act of connecting the boilerroom piping to a pump that is already mounted will nudge the fittings in a way that can result in a nuisance leak.
3. We have been asked for the pump to be shipped loose as some contractors would prefer to do it themselves in anticipation of unforeseen issues in the boiler room.
This will take effect immediately on all orders received after 11/23/09. All orders currently in house will have the pumps mounted.
