Using the Yes! Deck - Part 2
"Everyone Needs a Good Suit"
by Karen Hough, Founder & CEO of ImprovEdge
Now that the Yes! Deck is available, we have had a lot of requests for tips and guidance on making the most of the cards. This is the second in a series of short tips on using the Yes! Deck for you, for two, and for teams.
As we shared in the first tip, the Yes! Deck contains four colored suits, just like the four suits in a regular deck of cards. These four suits in the Yes! Deck represent the four basic principles of improvisation.
- Yes! Space
- Building Blocks
- Team Equity
- Oops to Eureka!
Each suit contains the following cards in this pattern:
1. Quote Card - contains inspirational quotes related to the improv principle.
Use these to start a conversation, put into a proposal or in your email signature.
2. What is it? Card - want to know more about the Yes! Space? Or Team
Equity? The What is it? Card describes these principles and how they apply to
you.
3. Exercise Cards - every suit is packed with exercise cards! Each of
these cards offers a fun, new way to approach everything from time
management to meetings to networking. Choose a new card at the beginning of
each week, identify the setting where you will focus using the exercise and,
most importantly, note the impact!
