Sticky Faith- Read & Discuss
Sticky Faith

Wednesday Nights
Sept 12 - Nov 14th
6:30-8:00 pm
w/Heather Hills
@ Fireside Area in Brown Chapel

A new small group is starting this fall that will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings at SDFC during children's choir and mid-high youth group.  We're discussing one chapter per week in the fireside area of Brown Chapel. Heather Hills, mom of a senior female in high school and 2 off to college, is the contact person for this group.  The weekly discussion will be facilitated by rotating parents who have volunteered to help lead the discussions.

"Sticky Faith is a book that is geared to spark a movement that empowers adults to develop robust and long-term faith in kids of all ages."  It is based on extensive research conducted by the authors, and presents a compelling rationale as well as a powerful strategy to build lasting faith in your kids. We hope you can join us in being a part of this on-going discussion.

Film Festival

Start making your videos Oct 1st
Films submissions due by Nov 2nd!
then
Films will be shown at the Festival on Nov 9th

This is FOR EVERYONE!! Friends, Family...

Here's what we'll do...

We give your small group (families and teens included) an envelope with $100 inside.

YOU choose how your group will use the $100.
Maybe you give to someone in need, maybe you use it to raise more money for an organization, maybe you use to to paint a graffiti wall, or you use to to bake cookies to bless others... who knows?!

Make a 90 second video to show what your small group did with the $100. (use your iPhone, smart phone, flip camera, really cool fancy video camera, your grandparents tape recorder, make a stop-motion animation film...be creative.)

Turn in your videos by Nov 2nd.

We will be featuring all the film submissions in the 3rd Annual Naz Family Film Festival on Friday, Nov 9th!

It's going to be GREAT!

Would you like to give but not sure how? Here's a few ways...

Compassion Students Sponsorship Opportunity

Naomi (from Tanzania), Pavej (from India), Wilder (from Guatemala).

As a youth group, we sponsor 3 students from around the world to help clothe, feed, nourish, & provide support for their education. We have committed to raise $38 per student per month (that's $1,368 per year!) During worship each week at Youth Group, we pass around an offering bucket to collect money to support these students and we often run short. Please help give to continue providing support for these students.

SDFC Students Scholarship Opportunity

We try our best to keep our Youth Group activities and events free or at a low cost; but sometimes it is difficult for a family to afford sending their teen(s). If you would like to give money for a teen to attend any one of these teen events or to go towards our Youth Camp scholarships, we'd love for our own Youth Group families to have the opportunity to participate in raising support, as well.

Snack Shack Fund

We have a Youth Room Snack Shack were we sell Candy & Soda for $1 each.  Half of the proceeds go into helping our 3 Compassion Students and the other half of the proceeds go into teen scholarships.
