Sticky Faith- Read & Discuss
Wednesday Nights
September 12 - November 14th
6:30-8:00 pm
w/Heather Hills
@ Fireside Area
During the summer a group of parents met for 8 weeks to read and discuss "Sticky Faith: Everyday Ideas to Build Lasting Faith in Your Kids". The book and the discussions were encouraging, inspiring, and challenging to the parents who participated. A new small group is starting this fall that will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings at SDFC during children's choir and mid-high youth group. All parents are invited to attend - regardless of whether you attended all, some, or none of the summer discussions. The fall group will start at the beginning of the book and discuss one chapter per week in the fireside area of Brown Chapel. Heather Hills will be the contact person for this group, but the weekly discussion will be facilitated by rotating parents who have volunteered to help lead the discussions.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the book, "Sticky Faith is a book that is geared to spark a movement that empowers adults to develop robust and long-term faith in kids of all ages." It is based on extensive research conducted by the authors, and presents a compelling rationale as well as a powerful strategy to build lasting faith in your kids. Additionally the book explores how parents, youth staff, and the church com
munity can partner together in the spiritual formation of children and teens. Youth staff are being asked to read the book as well, and the concepts in this book are signifi
cantly influencing what youth ministry looks like at SDFC. We hope you can join us in being a part of this on-going discussion.
Here's the details for the fall group:

Compassion Students Sponsorship Opportunity
Naomi (from Tanzania), Pavej (from India), Wilder (from Guatemala).
As a youth group, we sponsor 3 students from around the world to help clothe, feed, nourish, & provide support for their education. We have committed to raise $38 per student per month (that's $1,368 per year!) During worship each week at Youth Group, we pass around an offering bucket to collect money to support these students and we often run short. Please help give to continue providing support for these students.
I would like to help and make a donation for Compassion Students $
SDFC Students Scholarship Opportunity
We try our best to keep our Youth Group activities and events free or at a low cost; but sometimes it is difficult for a family to afford sending their teen(s). If you would like to give money for a teen to attend any one of these teen events or to go towards our Youth Camp scholarships, we'd love for our own Youth Group families to have the opportunity to participate in raising support, as well.
I would like to help and make a donation for SDFC Teen Scholarships
$
Snack Shack Fund
We have a Youth Room Snack Shack were we sell Candy & Soda for $1 each. Half of the proceeds go into helping our 3 Compassion Students and the other half of the proceeds go into teen scholarships.
I would like to donate to the Snack Shack fund $
