Greetings!
August means back to school! Whether you need treatment or it's time for the kids to schedule their hygiene visit - give us a call! With sports seasons about to kick into full swing, we can help you keep their smile safe! Ask about our custom sports guards!
Whether it is how to keep your smile safe, what exactly goes into a filling or how a crown is made to fit your mouth, don't be afraid to ask us! This month we answer a few of our most frequently asked questions (FAQs).
We are looking to build our FAQ section of our website, this is your chance to help us out. What questions do you have?
|
| What are you going to be doing? |
| Before you leave any appointment...
Be sure to know what you are returning for. Ask questions if you don't understand or can't remember.
|
| Is it going to hurt? |
| Our goal is to make things better
Dentistry is the medical science that helps restore the oral cavity to health. Before we get you numb (yes, with a needle and syringe) we use a topical anesthetic (similar to Orajel (R)) to make the 'shot' more comfortable. Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is also available, as are various medications. Once this is done most of your dental treatment will go on without you feeling a thing.
|
| Do I have to get numb? |
| This is a personal choice.
Believe it or not there are a good number of people who do not use any anesthetics at all for dental procedures.
|
| What are you using? |
| To be technical for a moment...
We use 6th generation bonding agents and composite for most 'fillings', in other words we bond a tooth colored filling in place. We also use computer technology (CEREC) to design crowns right in front of you, and then fabricate them in the milling chamber in our reception area, where you can watch it being made.
