Student of the Month
Zach Coppol
Eleven year old Zach Coppol has been studying at SoundStage for 5 years. Many families will recognize Zach from his many appearances at SoundStage concerts where he sings and accompanies himself on guitar. Over the years Zach has become quite a good note reader but it is his accompaniment playing that he seems to enjoy the most. Zach has a naturally great voice and sings everything from county to classic rock, alternative to Rap. He plays both electric and acoustic guitar depending upon his mood and what song he is working on.
"Starting at age 6 has its benefits", according to his teacher Mickey Leone. "That early start is very important to a youngster's musical development. Zach at that age was like a sponge. Like all Soundstage teachers I always try to keep it fun and do songs that the student really likes. From the beginning Zach showed a great interest in music and was always willing to play a little at home between lessons. We moved really quickly and within a short time he was playing and singing like a real musician."
One recent musical highlight for Zach was his grandfather's 70th birthday party at MaGurk's Restaurant in Fort Washington. At his lesson Zach worked on the great old song "Wonderful World ", made famous by Louis Armstrong. It is one of his papa's favorite. The audience loved Zach's performance at the party so much that they asked him to play a whole set of songs from his repertoire. Even the waiters and waitresses were amazed at this young musician's ability and poise.
Zach is on the swim team and he likes to play basketball but he takes guitar lessons all year long no matter what other activities he is involved with. |

Welcome New Teacher

Jessica Kluck
Voice and Piano
Bucks County native, Jessica Kluck, is an accomplished performer and educator. Ms. Kluck holds a Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University's Setnor School of Music where she was a dual major in Voice Performance and Musicology. She won many principle roles in Syracuse's Opera Program, and was honored to be featured in the world premiere of Luigi Zaninelli's Snow White at the Teatro Maggio in Florence, Italy in 2006. Jessica then went on to get her Master Degree from the Thornton School of Music at USC.
Jessica in her own words:
"The first song I learned on the piano after Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was the "Heart and Soul" duet. My parents caught on to my interest and signed me up for lessons at 8 years old. I studied classical piano, privately until I was 11 when I began attending a music school. Over the years I participated in various master classes, and recitals, including one at the Kimmel Center. This kind of training and experience contributed to my acceptance by Esther Boyer's College of Music and Dance at Temple University. Here I studied with Dr. Charles Abramovic. I took many classes include Pedagogy of Children, Pedagogy of Adults, Creative Act for Pianists, and a Suzuki Training Course. While at Boyer I was given many opportunities to perform, accompany recitals and conducting classes, and participate in Master Classes. It was during my studies at Temple that I began accompanying 2 services every Sunday at a Methodist Church in NJ (which I still accompany till this day".
As a vocalist, Ms. Kluck continues to perform and record original music, as well as covering selections of the Great American Songbook. She is a deeply devoted vocal instructor, striving to bring healthy, classically-based technique to students interested in singing in a variety of differing styles including jazz, pop, and musical theater.

SOUNDSTAGE CONCERT SERIES
One of the many unique things about SoundStage is the number of concerts available to the students. Many schools have only yearly recitals or at most a few per year. At SoundStage we believe that performances are crucial to the development of young musicians. There is no limit to how many times a student can perform. Many beginners do their first concert after only a few months of lessons. There is no need to wait. It is really about fun and sharing music with friends and families. Performing builds confidence and skills that will be useful in school and later in life.
What People Say about SoundStage Concerts
"The concerts are a great learning experience, and wonderfully fun. My daughter, Anne, has enjoyed working toward the goal of performing, and the performances themselves gave her confidence. All students --- whatever their level --- are celebrated at the concert, and it's an enthusiastic, multi-generational audience."
Wendy Horowitz - Parent
"Great learning experience because the concert gives me a goal to work towards when I am practicing and attending lessons. I was shy to play at my first concert now I am excited about putting what I learned to real life use".
Joseph Marino - student
