DCCOA Institutes two new Policies to Support Covenants
During the April board meeting the DCCOA passed two new policies that will be effective August 1st 2010. Links to the policies can be found below and they are also posted on the website. PROCESS FOR HANDLING VIOLATIONS -- PROJECTS NOT APPROVED BY THE ARB Click for linkPROCESS FOR
HANDLING VIOLATIONS -- AFTER HOURS WORK, SUNDAY WORK, OR HOLIDAY
WORK Click for link The process for handling ARB violations is being instituted
when residents fail to get ARB approval before starting outside work on
their residence. See the ARB guidelines on the web site for what
requires ARB approval. The process for handling work hour violations is
being instituted where contractors perform work after hours or on
Sundays. These policies are effective August 1, 2010The Board tabled the vote on the speed bump issue to the next board meeting on May 27th for board members to have the opportunity to visit and try out a couple of sample locations where the new speed deterrants are being compared to (Avenues Mall and Off Old St. Augustine Community behind Lowes, first right). The recommendation of the access control committee was to remove the current speed humps in the Southern Natural area and install asphalt speed humps measuring 12'x24'x4" at an additional cost of $2,672.46. In
addition, to install these devices in the Northern Natural area upon the
time for which that area road work is to be performed.

Please help us keep Deercreek beautiful...
- Check your trees that are overhanging the
sidewalks or roads. We encourage our residents to
use the sidewalks so it is important to keep the
trees limbed up so nothing is impeding the walkways.
The trees close to the road will get "truck trimmed"
if the limbs are too low. This causes rough cuts
which can encourage diseases and insect infestation.
- Please remind your landscape maintenance
personnel that they should remove any debris from
your yard or arrange for you to put the yard waste
out for pick up on Wednesdays. If a landscape
company is caught dumping anywhere in Deercreek they
will be denied access. (All landscapers receive the
rules from the Guards when they enter our
community.) Homeowners will be given a fine if seen
disposing of yard waste anywhere in Deercreek.
- Anything that is blown into the street
drains eventually end up in our lakes or worse -
clogs up the lines leading to them. If you have a
street drain close to your home please check it to
see if there is trash in it. If there is please call
630-2489 to arrange for a clean out. The city offers
this service only to individual home owners so we
really do need your help with this.
- While the lake levels are low it would be
a good time to pick up any trash along the banks.
Our lake management company tries to pick up as much
as they can from their boats, but they can't always
reach it all.

Want to reserve the playground/ pavilion?
Who do you call?
The playground/pavilion can be reserved for birthday parties or family gatherings. Please call the guard gate to reserve the date and time, (preferably calling the gate at 363-2147 after 10 am - the morning rush). There is a large covered area, playground, basketball and volleyball areas. There is no charge for reserving the area. All we ask is that you leave the playground in the same condition as you received it and remove any trash when you leave the area.

Friendly Reminders
 Per the Deercreek Covenants, Section
4(g) Garages and Automobile Storage. "Automobiles shall be
stored in garages when not in use. No garage shall be converted to
living space" and in addition the Deercreek Rules and Regulations, Section 20(B) Parking: states
"Garages are expected to be used for the housing of vehicles so as to
minimize the number of vehicles parked on the driveway." Garages cannot
be used for storage or for any other purpose other than the first use of
making sure that all cars are parked within. Cars parked on the
driveway whereby the garage is not being used for car storage, is a
"Violation" of our covenants and is subject to a fine of $100 a day up
to $1,000. Therefore, all cars must be parked in garages before any cars
are permitted to be parked in the driveway overnight. When there are
more cars than can be accommodated in the garage, permission is granted
to leave those vehicles in the driveway only. Overnight parking on the streets is prohibited between
the hours of 2 am to 6 am. Portable on Demand storage units (PODS) may be parked
over night no longer than 70 hours.

The View June 2010
10073 Chester Lake Road
This beautifully manicured landscape is maintained by
its owner, Randa Saman. There is a spectacular fountain
surrounded by lorapetalum and boxwood, lined with
African lillies and finished with fresh cypress mulch.
The corner lot has knockout roses, sagos, jasmin and
caladium. Highlighting the front garden are Italian
Cypress and many flower varieties - snapdragons,
pansies, lantana, mums and zinnias. |
Women's Alliance
We are holding our Community Food Drive from June
12-26 to benefit the Hubbard House so maybe you
could start putting away some sale items or taking
advantage of BOGO sales in the stores. The families
residing at Hubbard House fix their own meals and
need the supplies ready to do this, so you would be
making a huge difference in their lives at a very
stressful time. They need non-perishable food items
plus grocery store gift cards for fresh food.
· Breakfast food and juices, coffee, instant tea/Kool-Aid · Canned fruit, vegetables, meat and fish · Snacks, peanut butter, jelly, condiments · Ready made meals (stew, ravioli, mac-n-cheese) or
package meals · Instant rice or mashed potatoes, pasta and sauce,
dessert mix · Paper towels, kitchen supplies, laundry supplies,
personal hygiene
Check out Hubbard House

to see what they do and what they need. We would
like to overwhelm them with our generosity!
If you have questions about the
Alliance, check our page on
