The annual meeting will be held on December 8 at 7:00 PM.  You will receive a ballot and proxy from May Management soon.

It is critical that a quorum for the annual meeting be established.  If you cannot attend the meeting, be sure to return your ballot and proxy no later than November 30.  For your convenience, a drop box for ballots and proxies will be available at the guard gate on the exit side.  Save postage and time by using this convenient drop box!
Profiles for Board candidates:

Pete Gentry

I am a 17 year resident of Deercreek Country Club having purchased my lot from the PARC group on Bishop Lake road in 1992.

Currently I am Secretary of the Deercreek Country Club Owners Association and have held this office since being elected to it by the 2009 Board of Directors. Prior to this I was legal liaison to the Board during part of 2008 having been elected to fill a vacancy by the Board. I was also elected to the Board of Directors in 2005 and serving during 2006 and 2007 where I was board liaison to the Architectural Review Committee.

Having lived in Deercreek for many years and seen its growth and maturation, I have a deep interest in all aspects of the community and am committed to keeping Deercreek beautiful and our resultant property values the highest possible. We all benefit from the many hours volunteered by Deercreek residents who are members of committees or are elected to the Board of Directors.

My current profession is Managing Broker for Florida Commercial Real Estate Services LLC where I have worked the past 5 years. Prior to that I was an Information Technology consultant, Director of IT for Bombardier Capital Mortgage division in Jacksonville, Director of IT for The ATP Tour in Ponte Vedra Beach, Director of Information Systems for Tree of Life in St. Augustine, and Systems Engineer for IBM Corporation in Charleston WV. I also served 3 years in the US Army in Military Intelligence in Bangkok , Thailand during the Viet Nam war.

I have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and have studied post graduate accounting and business at UNF here in Jacksonville.

I am active Kiwanis International where I currently am secretary/ Treasurer of the Deerwood Kiwanis Club. I am a Past Lt. Governor for Florida Kiwanis, past president of the Deerwood Club, past president of the Beaches Kiwanis club and the Southside Kiwanis Club. I am a director on the board of the Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce. I am a long time member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour where I have sung bass in the choir for over 25 years.

I hope you will agree that my experience and demonstrated community involvement makes me well qualified to re-run for another term on the Deercreek Country Club Owners Association Board and that you will vote for me at the annual meeting.

James Z. Kagiliery

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

My name is Jim Kagiliery, and I am running for one of the soon-to-be vacated seats on the DCCOA board. My family and I have lived in Deercreek since 2001, and are on our second Deercreek home. In fact, I'll bet I'm the only Deercreek golfer who can say he's played in the Resident's Cup golf tournament four times, twice as an Uptowner, and twice as a Powerliner, and never lost!!! I'm a recovering golfaholic who's logged thousands of rounds on our beautiful course (much to my wife's chagrin!). I'm married to my best friend, Aronson, who many of you know from her involvement in the neighborhood's various functions thru the years. I have twin six year old daughters, Anna and Julia, who are the apple of my eye. You'll often see us traversing the neighborhood, they on their bikes, us trying to keep pace on foot!

I am President and CEO of JD Byrider Inc. We are in our 10th year in the retail automotive and special finance business, have 7 locations in Florida and Georgia, 150 associates, and roughly $60mm in annual revenues. Being that we are heavily into the very cyclical automotive sales and sub-prime finance businesses, I have received quite the education in financial crisis management over the last few years, as you might imagine. Prioritization of key objectives, making difficult decisions, communicating them effectively and getting everyone excited about their zestful implementation have gotten us through some rough times, and it is these qualities and attributes that I would hope to lend to the board if I am fortunate enough to get your support.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA, and an MBA, also in finance, from Villanova University in Philadelphia PA. My current board experience includes my role as Chairman of the Board of the Florida Independent Auto Dealers Association, which represents and lobbies for the 8,000 used vehicle dealers in the state of Florida. I have also chaired the Legislative and Executive committees of that organization. I was also recently appointed to the Board of Trustees at Hendricks Day School, where my children attend First Grade. In my spare time (ha ha) I am currently training for my second Ironman triathlon. I view sleep as an occasional luxury!

As a board member I would count among the most important objectives preserving the safety and security of our residents, maintaining the outstanding quality of life we enjoy, protecting the aesthetic beauty of the neighborhood, and increasing the value of our investments as Deercreek homeowners. If elected I promise to do my level best to consistently pursue these ends with vigor and purpose. I would be humbled and honored to have your support.

Aaron West
[no photo available]

I always remember the most important concept my favorite professor taught me: "Common sense is surprisingly uncommon!" My name is Aaron West, and I am a 6 resident of Deercreek. My wife, Colleen, and my beautiful five year old daughter Abigail are proud to call this community our home. I am a critical care anesthesiologist in private practice here in Jacksonville, with an academic appointment at the University of Florida. I sit on several governing committees within our hospitals, and am the vice-chief of the department of surgery at Memorial Hospital. While not engaged in hospital or clinical activities, I am honored to serve as an NCAA football and lacrosse official. I love to play golf and am an active member in my church. Every night that I drive home, I am always refreshed driving through our gates into our tranquil, beautiful neighborhood. I am of the opinion that governance or any sort should be long on common sense and reticent to make policy and rules simply for the sake of doing so. Each of us shares a pride of residing here, and the purpose of the board should be to serve the community and facilitate the joy of living here. I am confident that I can fulfill that role.
