Stay-focused Divers explore East End!
Stay-Focused offers teens and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to become certified SCUBA divers, and, through that experience, learn lasting lessons about life and achievement. It promotes empowerment, discipline, and focus in helping participants achieve personal goals. Stay-Focused is committed to supporting medical research that explores the beneficial aspects of water sports on persons with mobility challenges. Beyond learning to dive and the educational value of the Stay-Focused experience, one of the primary goals of Stay-Focused is to maintain lifelong connections with the teens and young adults who participate in the program. Participants in the program become alumni of Stay-Focused and will always be part of the Stay-Focused network. Each participant is offered the opportunity to return to Grand Cayman one year after the first trip to participate in a second week of diving and workshops. These "reunion" trips enable divers to refresh their diving skills and help reinforce lessons-learned during the first trip, including overcoming challenges and setting realistic, achievable personal goals. On their visit to East End, Capt Sean and Sam took them on a dive to Jack McKenney's Canyon where they were fortunate enough to see their first Reef Shark! Stay-Focused is registered in Grand Cayman as Stay-Focused Ltd., a charitable organization. While the organization's purpose and goals remain unchanged, Stay-Focused Cayman Ltd. has a broader agenda of lifting awareness in Cayman for the potential of all persons with disabilities. Above the waves with The Kitehouse
The Kitehouse boys are expanding, but don't worry Mike isn't putting any weight on. The expansion comes in the form of a new location. After spending a very successful inaugural year based at our Ocean Frontiers HQ location on the East End, Mike and George are now going to be able to cover more areas of the island with an additional location at Kaibo Yacht Club.
This expansions means that no matter which way the wind is blowing so long as it's blowing the boys are kiting ! If the wind is not blowing then paddleboarding and kayaking are in full affect at both locations. The Kitehouse offers paddleboarding, kayaking and kiteboarding and with a boat at both locations they can offer all types of lessons and excursion.
The great thing about the new Kaibo location is that it opens up a whole new window of opportunity for us to be able to offer some very unique tours: Full Moon Kayak tours, Mangrove tours as well as the much talked about bioluminescence tours. Bioluminescence is the phenomenon where light or glow is created by a living creature by internal chemical reaction. Approximately 80% of all marine life creates bioluminescence to some degree. This is done to achieve different survival strategies, which include mating, predator avoidance and feeding. When a particular species of plankton concentrates in very high numbers in rare areas around the world, the results are stunning. This tour should make your bucket list so be sure to book the next time you are down.

September Coral Spawning

Join us for our 6th Annual Coral Spawning dives this September. This is a unique chance to witness coral spawning in Grand Cayman. Annual coral spawning is one of the world's great natural phenomena. It's a time when the reef bursts into effervescent life, and once experienced you will never look at corals the same way again. The East End of Cayman is the perfect place to study coral spawning because the healthy reefs are home to a variety of coral species. Not only do the different species spawn on different nights providing at least three nights of activity, but they also have distinct spawning behaviors. So each night it's a different show. Also, unlike coral spawning dives in other places, at Ocean Frontiers our guests are free to do whatever they want on their dives. Of course they can help with the data collection, but most prefer to relax and enjoy the event or shoot pictures or video for themselves. We must add that coral spawning is a natural event and it cannot be guaranteed 100% If you are going to be on island between the 8th and 12th September 2009, then why not add one or two of these special dives to your dive schedule. If you were not planning on coming down then why not book a last minute deal with us. A 5 Night dive vacation package at Compass Point Dive Resort, diving 4 two tank dives and 3 night dives and a car rental for the entire time SPECIAL OFFER ONLY $895.00 per person double occupancy. Our "Green Short Service"
Our philosophy has always been that our company is only as good as the people who make it work on a daily basis and we truly believe that our customer service is what makes us stand out from the crowd and what makes you, our valued and loyal customer come back time after time.
A few years ago we were exhibiting at a diving show in New York when a gentleman came up to our stand and said, " Hey you're the guys in the Green Shorts aren't you?" He continued to tell us about the great service he had received - from the "guys in the green shorts" and so the phrase "Green Short Service" was coined. We perceive our customers as our 'Ambassadors' and value your word of mouth recommendations that we receive. We hope that you will continue to spread the word and welcome you to post your reviews about us on sites such as Trip Advisor
