EE Express Shuttle
Westside Divers -
Ride the East End Express

Ocean Frontiers is pleased to announce that we are bringing back our free 'East-West' shuttle for divers. The service will be available to pick up divers from any hotel or condo property on Seven Mile Beach.  Our East End shuttle typically takes 45 minutes to get from the Seven Mile Beach area to our East End diving headquarters.  The trip to the East also serves as one of the most scenic drives in Grand Cayman and shows you many miles of the Southern coastline while passing a number of historical landmarks.   The time flies by as you talk with other divers and your friendly driver who tells you about the island and what you can expect to see on the dives that day. The shuttle awaits the return of your 2 tank dive and will take you back to 'the other side' after you have had the opportunity to take a shower, dip in our pool and visit our gift shop.  Space is limited, so always book early - No minimum number of divers required.

Our East End shuttle will continue to serve East End properties, such as The Reef Resort and Morritt's Tortuga Club & Resort.

Red Lion Fish
Enemy Within - Lion fish

Cayman's marine diversity is under assault from the invasive Indo-Pacific Red Lionfish.  Fortunately, Ocean Frontiers dive staff and other operators are pooling their resources to fight the threat presented by this beautiful but dangerous fish.  In February 2008 a juvenile Red Lionfish was first removed from a dive site in Little Cayman.  Since that time, 110 have been removed from Grand Cayman, 115 from Little Cayman and only a handful from Cayman Brac.  The fish is a voracious and indiscriminate feeder, capable of inflicting massive damage on the marine ecosystem by feeding on native marine species. With no known predators in local waters and the ability to reproduce more often and at a younger age than other reef species, the Lionfish has the potential to become the most abundant predator on the reef.  Such a change in local reef populations could inflict irreversible damage to the marine ecosystem and has prompted the Cayman Islands Department of Environment to take a stand that all Lionfish should be removed from local waters. Red Lion Fish should only be caught by those trained and licensed to do the job,  Specialized equipment is needed to safely capture the species, as shown in the photo.  All 18 of Ocean Frontiers dive staff are now trained and licensed to collect these fish and to date have collected more than any other dive shop on Grand Cayman.
