Chamber President's Special Request Last week we were privileged to
be at Grand Prairie
Independent School
District when we were recognized for the work
that the Chamber has done for the Great Texas Scholars Program. We appreciate
the recognition, but are more excited about the prospect of the new Texas
Scholar program as the District takes it on. At that meeting it hit me that we
can all do a LITTLE that would add up to a LOT at the school district. This is
what I am asking our member businesses to do. Select a school that you want to
help and join the PTA. Now, PTA membership varies from school, so I am asking
that you send an even $10.00 and support this organization. This will help our
PTAs build their school organizations stronger and will demonstrate that the
businesses of our chamber are committed to the community. If you do not want to select a school, but wish to support this
program, we will be happy to select a school for you. If you like, you can reply to this e-mail and
we will invoice you for the $10.00 and cut checks to the various schools. However you choose to help, we hope that you
will let the chamber know of your contribution so we can recognize those
businesses that participated. What does this have to do with
the chamber mission to "Promote, strengthen and expand the business community",
you ask? What better way to strengthen
the future workforce than by assisting the organizations that support our
students. If you want to get creative, I'll
bet you can come up with other ways to support your school of choice. We hope this option will just get your juices
flowing. For your convenience, here is a list of schools from which
to choose: Campus Adams MS, Middle School Arnold, Middle School
