Center of Arlington (MCA) is a 332-bed, acute care hospital located in South
Arlington at the corner of Matlock Road and Mayfield Road, just north of US
Interstate 20. MCA has been serving
Arlington and its surrounding communities for over 30 years. The hospital has expanded its services in
recent years and boasts the most comprehensive women's services program in the
area called The Birthing Center. MCA's
state-of-the-art women's tower is where over 4,000 deliveries take place each
year. The Birthing Center also includes
a 10-bed antepartum unit and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where
special care and attention is given to moms undergoing high-risk
pregnancy. MCA
is the hometown hospital for the Texas Rangers and offers everyone-from the
American League All-Stars to the Arlington Little League All-Stars-excellent
clinical care through its Sports Medicine Program and Emergency
Department. Medical Center of Arlington
is the only designated trauma hospital in Arlington and over 68,000 people
choose MCA for their emergency needs each year. Medical
Center of Arlington recently opened a 6-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
that adjoins its newly established Heart and Vascular center, a dedicated,
all-private room, 30-bed unit. MCA's
heart and vascular specialists use the latest cutting-edge technology to
diagnose and treat the most complex diseases of the heart and vascular systems. Medical
Center of Arlington is accredited by the Joint Commission. MCA is Arlington's first certified Chest Pain
Center, first JCAHO-designated Primary Stroke Center and recently received the
Gold Seal of Approval for health care quality in Wound Care. Committed to providing the best possible care
for each patient, MCA is staffed by 1,200 dedicated nurses, technicians,
advocates, and volunteers and more than 500 physicians who deliver
patient-centered care each and every day. Representing more than 40 areas of specialized care, MCA provides
award-winning care and critically acclaimed services for members of the
Arlington community. MCA
believes that the community plays an important role in the health and wellness
of its residents. Therefore, the
hospital supports and involves organizations in activities, programs, and

August Monthly Luncheon
Wednesday, August 18th was our monthly luncheon which was sponsored by the City of Grand Prairie. Our Keynote Speaker was Tom Hart, City Manager, he provided us with a very enlightening view of the City's finances.
