Chairmen's Corner
Each month as I prepare the monthly letter to the Chamber members, I attempt to provide the message that the Chamber CAN and WILL help you and your business in many different ways, if you allow it do to so. My personal experiences have taught me that our Chamber dues and involvement are well worth the investment. Get involved. I know that at first, it may seem that it is difficult to get involved, but I assure you, everyone on this Chamber Staff and our Board is willing and prepared to help you and your business take that next step. Just let us know what we can do. A prime example of the opportunities the Chamber offer was the Golf Classic that wrapped up on May 7th. I had the great pleasure of playing with the Oncor team. While our scorecard wasn't at the top of the leader board (primarily my fault!), I was able to spend 18 holes with contacts that were made through the Chamber. Again, through the Chamber and the opportunities that the Chamber presents, the relationships that are developed become very meaningful both professionally and personally. Thanks to everyone that played, volunteered and sponsored the annual Golf Classic. It was a fantastic day on all fronts. I'd also like to give a special thanks to the Chamber Staff for once again coordinating a great event. ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE? By now, I hope you have heard or seen that the GAMES of Grand Prairie are May 22nd at Loyd Park. This is my personal favorite event of the year for many reasons. If you need more information on the exciting day of competition, please let us know. Last year, we had a great turnout and this year's event should be bigger and more competitive than last year. And as always, keep up to date with what's going on in the Chamber and Community by visiting our website www.grandprairiechamber.org or call the chamber at 972-264-1558.

Chamber Member DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL OFFER
Each Chamber member in good standing is eligible to buy a CareFlite Ambulance Membership at a cost of $10 per employee. | | |
Per Jim Swartz, President and CEO of CareFlite, this is quite an offer:
"A one year family membership (usually) costs $49. The lowest public price which you can see on our website is $149 for 5 years or $30 per year. But the real value is if someone is transported. A typical ground transport is $1500 and a typical air transport is $15,000. In our experience, insurance companies on average pay about 50% leaving the balance to patient responsibility. Over the past 30 years we have transported over 500,000 patients. This year we will transport about 40,000. This is a bargain at $10 and yours would be about the 10th Chamber to offer it to their members as a special benefit. While our service covers all of North Texas, if someone is getting a helicopter transport in Grand Prairie, it is 99.5% likely to be CareFlite." Contact the Chamber Office and we will gladly send you the Caring-Heart Membership Application so that you can offer this great benefit to your employees.
