What a great month we are having here at the chamber!
The golf tournament was great fun. We appreciate our sponsors and our great volunteers. The golfers had an awesome time in the beautiful, though breezy weather! Thank you all for your help and your participation.
Moving on.....
May is also the month of our City / Chamber Partnership of the GAMES of Grand Prairie at Loyd Park on May 22. Teams are gearing up for a competitive day. The trash talk has begun. You will want to join us on facebook as a fan of the GAMES of Grand Prairie. Some of the GAME descriptions are there. You may also hear about us on 95.3 "The Range" where Brett Dillon, star of the film, "The Last Great DJ" has been promoting the event. He will be at the GAMES in person doing a remote broadcast from Loyd Park.
Teams will compete in 10 qualifying GAMES and then the top 3 teams will vie for the Championship. Breakfast will be served to the Teams, Officials and Volunteers at 8:00 a.m. by Chick-fil-a, Towne Crossing and lunch will be served by Traders Village about 12:00 p.m. Then we will move on to the closing ceremonies where prizes and medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place along with the prize for the team demonstrating the most Spirit will be distributed. While we are waiting for the results and after the Closing Ceremonies we will be entertained with live music by Andrew Delaney and the Horse You Rode In On.

Per Jim Swartz, President and CEO of CareFlite, this is quite an offer:
"A one year family membership (usually) costs $49. The lowest public price which you can see on our website is $149 for 5 years or $30 per year. But the real value is if someone is transported. A typical ground transport is $1500 and a typical air transport is $15,000. In our experience, insurance companies on average pay about 50% leaving the balance to patient responsibility.
