Chairman's Corner
When I joined the Chamber years ago, it was a little overwhelming to how many ways the Chamber provides you with opportunities to grow your business, but I was able to utilize my membership and grow my business through the Chamber. I encourage you to do the same. Each and everyday, the Staff of the Chamber is working on providing its members resources to expand their business and I hope you as a vital member of the Chamber and business community are taking advantage of the opportunities. If not, please come in or call us to discuss way we can help you expand your business.
I hope everyone is gearing up for the big events our Chamber has in store for us in the next month. The two BIG events that are lined up in May are right around the corner. If you haven't heard yet, the annual Golf Classic is set for May 7th at Tangleridge. It is a perfect way to market your business and make new relationships with the community and other Chamber members. I always enjoy escaping the office for a day to spend sometime on the golf course with friends and colleagues and hope you can find the time to either play, sponsor or volunteer at the event.
My personal favorite event is also in the month of May. The GAMES of Grand Prairie, in its second year, is a fun day that offers exciting and challenging obstacles to the teams that participate. Last year was a great event and this year's version looks to be even bigger and better. The reason the GAMES are so special is simply because no other event around offers the team building, competition and FUN like this event does. If you want to learn how you can participate, please contact the Chamber's great staff. My team is already signed up and I challenge everyone else to a fun filled day at Loyd Park on May 22nd.
And as always, keep up to date with what's going on in the Chamber and Community by visiting our website www.grandprairiechamber.org or by calling the Chamber at 972-264-1558.

Chamber Member DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIP SPECIAL OFFER
Each Chamber member in good standing is eligible to buy a CareFlite Ambulance Membership at a cost of $10 per employee. | | |
Per Jim Swartz, President and CEO of CareFlite, this is quite an offer:
"A one year family membership (usually) costs $49. The lowest public price which you can see on our website is $149 for 5 years or $30 per year. But the real value is if someone is transported. A typical ground transport is $1500 and a typical air transport is $15,000. In our experience, insurance companies on average pay about 50% leaving the balance to patient responsibility. Over the past 30 years we have transported over 500,000 patients. This year we will transport about 40,000. This is a bargain at $10 and yours would be about the 10th Chamber to offer it to their members as a special benefit. While our service covers all of North Texas, if someone is getting a helicopter transport in Grand Prairie, it is 99.5% likely to be CareFlite." Contact the Chamber Office and we will gladly send you the Caring-Heart Membership Application so that you can offer this great benefit to your employees.
