The Great Texas Scholar Program
is your opportunity to recognize those students who have invested in themselves and their own future by making good grades, providing community service and their commitment to excellence!
These students will be honored at the Great Texas Scholars Luncheon on March 10th at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie presented by the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc.

This Luncheon honors students who have completed a rigorous set of requirements. In addition to graduating on the recommended program with a 2.5 grade point, they have attended a City Council Meeting, A School Board Meeting. They have completed 10 hours of community service for this program. They have attended a presentation on basic interview skills and have practiced their interview skills with a business leader.

Branding Irons Breakfast
The February Branding Iron Breakfast took place on Thursday, February 25th at 7:45 am, at Outlaws BBQ which is located at 2334 SE Beltline Line Road.
This committee of dedicated chamber members is responsible for being the welcoming committee for the Chamber and serves as Ambassadors to make all feel welcome. They serve as official greeters at Luncheons and Business After Hour mixers. They preside over all ribbon cuttings that are specifically scheduled to welcome new members to the Chamber.

In case you missed it.....North Texas shattered a Super Bowl record Tuesday morning at Cowboys Stadium. More then 2,000 people attended the second of three workshops for Super Bowl XLV's Emerging Business Program. That's the largest crowd ever to attend the NFL program. The Emerging Business workshop helps educate minority and woman owned business on possible procurement opportunities for Super Bowl XLV.

Milam Elementary Green Team is trying to WIN the RECYCLING CONTEST for the district and we need any and all magazines, newspapers and office paper you have to recycle!
We are competing on weight in our Abitibi dumpster so drop your recycling by or let me know and I will pick it up! We are pushing this week to fill that recycling bin!!
