Chairman's Corner
Now that we are well into 2010, I hope everyone is making plans and taking steps to grow both professionally and personally. The Chamber can help either way. Our Program of Work is well underway and the focus of our events is to provide you with opportunities to provide growth to you and your businesses.
One such opportunity was our annual State of the City Dinner, which was held last night, February 4th at the Ruthe Jackson Center. I want to thank everyone who came out, city, business and residential leaders. Our Mayor, Charles England, gave his annual State of the City Address. This year we also added a Community Silent Auction. The entire evening was a success and I want to thank everyone who attended as well as all of our sponsors: Reliable Paving; Ruthe Jackson in honor of Dan Clemson; Dealers Auto Auction of Dallas; Espey Consultants, Inc.; Freese and Nichols, Inc.; Grand Prairie Disposal; Chick-fil-A Carrier Towne Crossing; ATMOS Energy; Manhattan Construction; TXU Energy; Sports Corporation; Oncor Electric Delivery; Texas Trust Credit Union; Mission Uniform & Linen Service; FASTSIGNS; J M H Printing Co.; Control Products Corporation- Creative Embroidery & Trophy Division; Brinkley Sargent Architects; Hong Kong Market Place; Grand Prairie Housing Finance & Jackson Property Company; Bill Thorn Real Estate; Gail Wills, CPA; Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, LLP; CSL Plasma; Vought Aircraft; Industries, Inc.; TXU Energy; Chesapeake Energy; Reynolds Asphalt & Construction Co.; Eye Care Associates of Texas, P.A.; Halff Associates, Inc.; Schrickel, Rollins & Associates, Inc.; American Eurocopter; Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control.

Health and Human Services Day
The Leadership Grand Prairie Class of 2010 met on Wednesday, February 3rd for its Health and Human Services Day. They started out at the Chamber with a review of several chapters from 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership lead by Roy Wilson with Northwood University.
Next, Marilynn Little with Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield's Office led the class through the rest of the day with a visit to Medical Center of Arlington where a wonderful lunch was hosted by Emelda Valcarcel. Following lunch, the class traveled to Parkland Hospital, it's project office and their Irving Health Center. Thank you to everyone involved in making this day a succes for the 2010 Class.
