JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT TO THE COURT OF CLAIMS - The West Virginia State Bar is seeking candidates for the position of Judge of the Court of Claims. If interested, provide a resume to the State Bar on or before March 30, 2011.  The Speaker and the President will make the appointment from a list of three candidates recommended by the Board of Governors of the State Bar. A minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a licensed attorney is required. This position involves hearing and deciding claims filed against state agencies and the Crime Victims Fund. The main offices of the Court are at the State Capitol with travel to other parts of the state for hearings.  Some administrative law, mediation, or other judicial experience would be beneficial. CLERK OF COURT, U.S. BANKRUPTCY COURT, NORTHERN DISTRICT OF WEST VIRGINIA, WHEELING, WV - The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of WV has begun receiving applications for the position of Clerk of Court.

  

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible to work in the United States.  Please visit the Court's website at

LAW FIRM ADVERTSING OPPORTUNITY - The West Virginia State Bar will hold its 2011 Annual Meeting at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Charleston, West Virginia on April 15 and 16, 2011.  We invite you to exhibit  by reserving exhibit space for the Annual Meeting.  The fee is $600 per exhibit.  The exhibit space will include one covered table and two chairs.  This fee admits two persons per exhibit to attend the Friday luncheon and the Friday evening Annual Banquet.  You and your firm will be introduced at the Annual Banquet.  Exhibit space will be located immediately outside the meeting room.  Hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday.  All transfer breaks will be in the exhibit area.  If you are interested in exhibiting, please CLICK HERE and complete the application.  Completed applications must be received by April 1, 2011, so arrangements can be made with the Embassy Suites. The annual Court Improvement Program child abuse and neglect cross-training conferences will take place on July 14-15, 2011, at Snowshoe Resort; July 18-19, 2011, at the Bridgeport Conference Center; and July 21-22, 2011, at the Chief Logan Conference Center.  The two-day conferences are free and open to the public.  Registration information will be available this spring on www.wvcip.com.
