COLLEGE SUMMIT SEEKING VOLUNTEERS - College Summit West Virginia, a non-profit organization that encourages and assists high school students with the college application process, is seeking volunteers to serve as writing coaches for its summer workshops.  Lawyers are a perfect fit given the amount of written work in our profession and that the College Summit process uses the Socratic method to help students write the "personal statement" portion of their college application.  College Summit is open to all students, but focuses on academically mid-tier students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds in an effort to assure that "Every student who can make it in college, makes it to college."  For further information, please go to www.collegesummit.org or contact Jayme Waldeck at jwaldeck@collegesummit.org.

LAWYER DISCIPLINARY BOARD - The Lawyer Disciplinary Board submits for public comment the following Legal Ethics Opinion: Ghostwriting or Undisclosed Representation: What is Permissible and What is not Permissible.  This L.E.O. was reviewed by the Board at its February 26, 2010 meeting.  Please submit your comments by May 31, 2010, to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, 2008 Kanawha Boulevard East, Charleston, West Virginia  25311. Click here to review the Opinion.
JOB POSTINGS -  In order to assist our members in locating suitable employment in these hard economic times, The State Bar has established a Career Services link on the website. To view the job postings, members will need to login under the members link, then select the Career Services link from the drop down under the members tab.  Attorney position will be  posted, for a period of fourteen (14) calendar days and all contacts regarding the opening will be made directly with the potential employer.  Questions regarding the site should be directed to Don Ryan via email ryand@wvbar.org or by calling (304) 558-8920.
