PHISHING SCAMS - The State Bar has again received notice of several phishing/solicitation scams. Members need to be careful in responding to any email from an individual they do not know.

CM/ECF Training ND/WV - The United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia will conduct CM/ECF training classes for attorneys on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Jennings Randolph Federal Center in Elkins. The first class is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 9:30 a.m. to noon, and the second class, 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is intended for attorneys and their staff, and there is no charge for the training. BAR FOUNDATION FELLOWS - Nineteen individuals will be honored as Bar Foundation Fellows during the 12th Annual Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Marriott Hotel in Charleston. Fellows are those lawyers and members of the judiciary whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession. The black tie optional reception and dinner begins at 6:30 PM and the cost is $75 person or $750 for a table of ten persons. MEDIATION TRAINING SESSIONS - On July 13 and 14, 2010, The West Virginia State Bar's ADR Committee will present its annual Basic Mediation Training Sessions. The sessions will be held at the Days Hotel in Flatwoods. The sessions provide 16 hours CLE credit with 1.2 hours in ethics. Registration deadline is July 7. An Advanced Mediation Training Session will be held on August 10, 2010, also at the Days Hotel in Flatwoods. This session will offer 6.5 hours credit with 1.2 hours in ethics.
