FALL FESTIVAL
We are going to need 100 volunteers for the Fall Festival on October 13th. Watch for a special request going out the beginning of next week or contact Kris, Kris@LRNow.org. Thank you in advance for your help!
OFFICE ASSISTANCE
We are looking for a few special individuals to assist in our office in the mornings, 9-Noon. We need people with office and telephone experience and comfort handling standard office tasks on the computer. 6th Annual Shellfish Company Fall Fest, Sat, Oct. 20, 1-4 PM
Live entertainment, door prizes, roasted oysters, Carolina BBQ, steamed shrimp, beer and more.
Tickets are $25 in advance. Tickets are available at Bubba's, Shellfish Company and The Back Deck
Proceeds donated to Lynnhaven River NOW.
Annual Float Building Workshop
Sept 22, 10 AM - 2 PM
TOGA will be holding its annual Oyster Float Building Workshop at the Aquaculture Center, VIMS, at Gloucester Point. No experience necessary! Get hands-on experience building different types of oyster floats with Master Oyster Gardener supervision. Register by September 14th at www.oystergardener.org. Light Rail Now
We will be voting on a referrendum this fall that will allow our City Council to continue to explore extension of the light rail line across Virginia Beach. Speakers from Light Rail Now are available to talk to your ciivic organization, church or other group. To schedule a speaker, call 757-377-1850.

Virginia Beach's First Sustainable
Living ExpoVolunteers Needed
Virginia Beach will be hosting the first Hampton Roads Sustainable Living Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on September 28th and 29th. Come and learn more about sustainable practices throughout Hampton Roads and things that you can make apart of your business or home. A partnership between the City of Virginia Beach and the Virginia Beach City Public Schools is planning and hosting the Expo. Mark your calendar now and plan to attend.
There is still booth space available for both non-profits and commercial businesses that support sustainable practices.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities to help make the event run smoothly. You may be able to help out on Friday, September 28th, 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. or Saturday, September 29th, 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. 'Fall on the Lynnhaven' Bike Tour
Saturday, October 27th, 9:45 AM -1:00 PM
Come enjoy the cool breeze off of the Lynnhaven River as we explore by bicycle Chicks Beach, Church Point and Pleasure House Point. The total length of the ride will be approximately 9 miles and our pace will be casual for all levels of riders, including families.

Our beginning and ending point is Bayville Park at the corner of Shore Drive and First Court Roads. Deni Norred and Karen Forget will be highlighting
historical aspects and conservation efforts along the ride.
We will enjoy a box lunch and drinks at Lockhaven Park and will have an opportunity for a short walk at the Pleasure House Point Natural Area.

Part-Time Employment
Save Oyster Shell Assistant
We are looking for a part-time employee to assist with the Save Oyster S  hell program during the fall and winter months. Shells are collected from restaurants and special events and are reused for oyster reef construction in the Lynnhaven River.
We need someone who can lift 40 pounds, is a safe driver with trailer experience and has a vehicle with a trailer hitch.
Hours will be occasional.
