Dear Lynnhaven River NOW Member:

Lynnhaven River NOW has agreed to participate in a large study of local environmental organizations being conducted by researchers from Old Dominion University and Virginia Wesleyan College. The results of this research will reach a national audience, and will highlight the accomplishments of citizen groups such as ours. In addition, the research team will be sharing their results directly with us, so that we might gain a better understanding of the opinions of our membership.

Lynnhaven River NOW is sending you this email directly; the researchers do not have access to your email address. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking on the link provided below. We appreciate your participation, and your continued support of Lynnhaven River NOW!

Dear Lynnhaven River NOW Member:
A group of researchers from Old Dominion University and Virginia Wesleyan College are conducting a study of local grassroots environmental organizations in the Hampton Roads Area. As part of this work, we have developed a short survey that is designed to measure the levels of trust and civic engagement among the citizen members of these groups. Questions for that part of the survey were developed by the Civic Engagement in America Project at Harvard University. We have also developed several additional questions that specifically address your involvement in Lynnhaven River NOW. The survey will take 12-15 minutes to complete.
This email is being sent to you by Lynnhaven River NOW; the research team does not have access to your name, email address, or any other identifying information. All responses will be kept strictly confidential, and will be aggregated with responses from all other survey participants. The analyses will be reported in a book scheduled for publication in 2013. Participation in this survey is voluntary.
