The Foods You Crave By Ellie Krieger
Full of dynamite recipes that are  light and healthy. Although these recipes are designed for the home cook, we have adapted some to meet the "WOW" criteria for healthy cuisine. Currently we are featuring Eggplant stuffed with Arugula, Fresh Mozzarella and served with Marinara sauce
We also like our "New" Flatbread  Brushetta..We grill our flatbread and then bake briefly with a variety of toppings. Currently we are using Fontina Cheese and tomatoes
Looking for a quiet evening? Try Saturday...For some reason Saturday's are not as busy as the rest of the week!

Leslie's The Tavern At Rockingham Newsletter # 3
You are receiving this newsletter as part of our continuing effort to reach out to you as a fine customer of Leslie's and let you know what new things are happening at Leslie's. We also would like to encourage you to use this newsletter as an inter-active forum for ideas that might better enable us to improve that which we do for you. In this newsletter we address the issue of salads and whether you enjoy this aspect of  your dining experience. Salads as part of the meal are becoming rare. This month we partnered with "Open Table" to help us better manage our reservation system and thus better serve you. This new system will help organize and streamline our reservations.  We really would like some feedback on how you feel about making reservations "on-line" and reservations in general.

                 Salad or Special Salad?
In the last decade or so, many upscale restaurants have done away with house salad's and replaced them with a variety of specialty salad at an additional charge. The added profit from the sale of salads and the savings from not including a salad make it possible for less expensive entree prices. In most cases the cost of a salad and the entree exceed the cost of  entrees (salad included) that we offer at Leslie's. You do however have the option of not choosing to have a salad at these restaurants which then allows for a smaller check. The marketing aspect at these restaurants is to create the perception of value, even though the cost of ala carte salads and side dishes are generally far more expensive. We have always thought it best to include a small salad and charge accordingly. You may feel otherwise and we would like to hear your input on this
        1. keep  house salad as part of the entree price
        2. no salad and adjust entree prices accordingly
        3. keep house salad, but include specialty salads  as                      an option on the menu

             Summer Foods
This week we planted several varieties of Tomatoes. "Sapho" comes with rave reviews from Johnnies Selected Seeds. "Amazing flavor" was enough to make me bite. Also planted some Sun Gold tomatoes you'll enjoy in your salads. By virtue of having planted about 75 plants you may be offered lots of tomato options...tomato ice cream? Of course we planted Zucchini because we can never get enough Zucchini. Our favorite herb of late is "ginger" mint which got picked to near death last summer. The mint is making a good comeback and you may see it in the tomato ice cream....
