Farmer's Market It's Baaaaack! Yay, it's that time of year again: farm-fresh produce and sun in the sun. Head to the Park City Farmer's Market every Wednesday. The first few weeks are traditionally a little barren due to our growing season, but things pick up by July. We love, love, love the fabulous bread! They also have live music to help liven up your shopping experience: who knew shopping could be so fun? From noon to 7 p.m. through October. For more information, visit http://www.parkcityfarmersmarket.com/
Raveable Aims to provide a comprehensive view of hotels across the United States by aggregating and summarizing millions of reviews from other sites: www.raveable.com
Water Feature Okay--you are in Salt Lake doing your errands (Costco, Target, etc) and it is HOT, HOT, HOT! What do you do? Head over to the Gateway and splash around in the water feature! Your kids will love you for it (and you will love it, too) We STILL would like one put in Park City but apparently it was up for vote last year and didn't pass (we suggest you contact the good folks at Basin Recreation if you would like to revive this issue)--other programs won out. Until then, you know where to go!
Cool Toilet Training Thing One said one-size-fits-all works for everything? We certainly don't think it does! How about two seat sizes to serve the whole family? Helping build confidence and independence, it fits all standard and round toilets. No more potty clean up (because we think cleaning potty seats is gross--why bother switching out of diapers for that mess?). The child seat clips into lid when not in use: http://choicestoiletseat.com/
Keep Your Child Safe http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-2906-LA-Successful-Women-Entrepreneurs-Examiner~y2009m5d21-Keeping-your-child-safe--the-book-every-parent-must-read 10 Easy Things You Can Do To Be Green In Park City 1. Weatherize (windows, doors, insulation, furnace ducts) 2. Choose energy efficient appliances (EnergyStar or equivalent) 3. Replace air conditioners with evaporative coolers (swamp coolers) 4 Turn it off when not in use (lights, electronics, chargers, fireplace pilot lights) 5. Use a clothesline instead of clothes dryer 6. Walk, bike or ride public transportation at least one time per week 7. Drive smart (start and stop slowly, keep speeds down, remove excess weight from vehicle) 8. Don't idle (10 seconds of idling uses more fuel than restarting) 9. Maintain your vehicle and keep tire pressures up to specifications 10. Replace old 2-cycle engines (like lawn mowers) and use brooms, rakes and snow shovels instead of gas-powered tools as much as possible.

Sponsorships (i.e. Advertising on Jane's List): All businesses wishing to advertise themselves to our readers need to purchase a sponsorship in order to be in Jane's List (this includes private schools, day cares, camps, etc). This is for a variety of reasons: keeps our newsletter fun by keeping it from becoming one big advertisement (which is not fair to our subscribers), that our sponsorships are clearly promoted and highly visible but also clearly marked and, most importantly, it is how we fund our newsletter and keep it free to our subscribers. We only run one sponsorship a day at the top of each daily newsletter. If you want to promote your business, program, class, etc and are interested in becoming a daily sponsor, please send an email to leslie@parkcityjane.com ATTN: Sponsorship. We really appreciate your sponsorship support!
Editorial Policy: Jane's List items are selected by our editors based upon information you have sent us as well as 'field experience' conducted by our editors. We want to keep the legitimacy, integrity and fun of Jane's List intact so we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest toy we told you about. And we ask the same in return: all submissions about a product or business to Jane's List should follow the same guideline (that you not affiliated with the business). We want you to send us your information to include in our daily lists: available nanny/babysitter (or need for a babysitter/nanny), a fun place/event to take your children for fun (especially if free), a great place for mom's night out, fun crafts to do with your kids, that awesome new exercise class you have taken, your garage sale, items you wish to sell, great recipe, funny video, sentimental poem, great gift ideas, important safety information, etc. We also LOVE to receive announcements (birth, press coverage of a local mom or business, etc) and will always be happy to post them. You can submit your requests to us at kristy@parkcityjane.com ATTN: Jane's List Item. Please make sure that you give us plenty of advance notice (we require a week in advance to guarantee posting your information).
Note regarding products featured in our list: all of the products written about in Jane's List have been 'test-driven' by our editors, subscribers or friends and family who have NO affiliation with the product editorialized. If you have a product/book/restaurant, etc you would like our editors to consider writing about, please let us know. We are always happy to have you send us something for one of our reporters to 'field test' for review for potential inclusion in one of our letters.
You Spoke And We Listened: We will be coming out with special editions to serve local schools, daycares and camps based upon YOUR requests. These issues will be only one time per year (i.e. the 'Camp' issue will come out in May, the 'Daycare' issue in August and 'Preschool' issue TBA--we could use your input on this one). If this is something you would like to be included in, please shoot us an email labeled ATTN: Special Edition and we will send you more details as they become available.
And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone--that would be lame.
