Save The Date For Father's Day Event
Mark your calendars now for the Park City Moms Group Father's Day event:  Saturday, June 20.  Details TBA.

Story Time At Pottery Barn Kids
There are a couple of reasons we love this story time:  1) it gives you a chance to shop 2) your child receives a special 'membership card' for attending (remember, it's the little things that matter when you're young!) and 3) they receive a special gift after attending 5 times!  Every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  For store locations and more details, visit http://www.potterybarnkids.com/cust/bookclub/content.cfm

Latisse Review
Okay, so you probably have heard about this 'miracle' from Allergan (I know they have many 'miracles'--we are referring to their newest one).  Apparently it makes your lashes grow longer and thicker--those of us who are not genetically blessed with long eyelashes perked up pretty fast.  This got our attention until we found out the price (around $100 for a 6-8 week supply).  So, we have been asking around to see if this miracle drug really works (no one wants to spend that kind of money on a bust).   A few local pharmacists have reported impressive results and one went so far as to say that her glaucoma patients were always complaining about how long their eyelashes were and were hitting their eyeglasses (oh, to have that problem)--if you weren't aware, the active ingredient in glaucoma medicine is the same in Latisse.  Apparently longer, thicker eyelashes were a known 'side effect'.  Anyway, long story long, I decided to fork over my cold cash to give this a try so that my friends won't have to fork over their money until you have a first hand report that it is true.  Will be sure to keep everyone posted on the results 2 months from now!

Barnes and Noble Story Time
Gather together in the children's area at the Barnes and Noble in Sugarhouse every Tuesday at 11:00.   You can browse for books nearby while your child is entertained.  For details, www.barnesandnoble.com

Free Gift Certificate For New Moms
Did you just have a new baby?  We have discovered that the children's boutique Baby Nee Nee is offering gift certificates to new mommies!  Bring your baby in the store, claim your certificate and have a blast shopping!  For more details, contact www.babyneenee.com

Eco-Friendly, Unique Webpage Video Birth Announcement
That was a mouthful!  Send in your photos and they will send you a link to an incredible announcement.  The only thing you have to do is email it to all your friends! A sweet shower or new baby present.  Watch the samples, pick your fave, and ...on your mark, get set, GO!  http://cooldogproductions.com/videoannouncements.html

Recycle Your Pharmaceuticals
Prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs can lead to water and soil contamination when flushed down the toilet or thrown in the trash.  To avoid this, you can recycle yours at various locations through out Utah:  www.medicationdisposal.utah.gov or call (801) 313-6745.

Texting While Driving
I am still shocked by how many people read their email or text while they drive (for that matter, I am still shocked by how many people do not use headsets or bluetooth while driving, by I digress).  It never fails--that person endangering lives by driving erratically is checking and responding to their email while driving.  As of May 1 of this year, texting or checking email while driving in the state of Utah is ILLEGAL!  If you are caught, it is a automatic ticket.  If you cause an accident while doing so, it is now an automatic Class B Misdemeanor, which means more money, jail time and/or license suspension.  If a driver causes injury or death, there could be serious consequences.  Please pass this along for those who might not know (i.e. your teenager).  Finally, our lawmakers did SOMETHING right.

Ad Sales Help

Any moms with an extra 3 hours per week to spare interested in earning a little cash?  Park City Jane's List is in need of sponsors in order to keep funding our newsletter.  Therefore we are looking for temporary help with ad sales.  We need a hunter who can chat with local businesses about Jane's List and the value of becoming a sponsor.  Much of the work can be done by computer  while your child naps or is in school.  The position pays commission-only based on what you bring in.  If you are interested or know someone who may be, please send an email to leslie.bailey@earthlink.net ATTN:  Ad Sales Queen.

June Tips
Change or clean all the filters on air conditioners.  These should be cleaned at least once a month in hot weather.  You should have your central AC cleaned and examined by service company.  NOTE: Find an established company with a good reputation. Avoid new companies that have no track record.
Raise the temperature of the AC; You will save about 5% for every degree you raise your thermostat over 70 degrees. Most people find they are quite comfortable at 75 degrees inside instead of 70. It is also less of a shock to your body to go outside into the hot air if the temperature in the house is not very cold.
Air out your basement - this is a good time to prevent mold and rot from taking over.
If your car has not been tuned in six months, get it tuned before summer travel.

Coke Rewards Program
At www.mycokerewards.com you can enter the codes that are on 12-packs and 2 liter bottles and donate the points to your school to receive free things like construction paper and soccer balls.  It doesn't seem like much but if everyone contributes it adds up!

Sponsorships (i.e. Advertising on Jane's List):  All businesses wishing to advertise themselves to our readers need to purchase a sponsorship in order to be in Jane's List (this includes private schools, day cares, camps, etc).  This is for a variety of reasons:  keeps our newsletter fun by keeping it from becoming one big advertisement (which is not fair to our subscribers), that our sponsorships are clearly promoted and highly visible but also clearly marked and, most importantly, it is how we fund our newsletter and keep it free to our subscribers.  We only run one sponsorship a day at the top of each daily newsletter.  If you want to promote your business, program, class, etc and are interested in becoming a daily sponsor, please send an email to leslie@parkcityjane.com  ATTN:  Sponsorship.  We really appreciate your sponsorship support!

Editorial Policy:  Jane's List items are selected by our editors based upon information you have sent us as well as 'field experience' conducted by our editors.  We want to keep the legitimacy, integrity and fun of Jane's List intact so we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest toy we told you about.   And we ask the same in return:  all submissions about a product or business to Jane's List should follow the same guideline (that you not affiliated with the business).  We want you to send us your information to include in our daily lists:  available nanny/babysitter (or need for a babysitter/nanny), a fun place/event to take your children for fun (especially if free), a great place for mom's night out, fun crafts to do with your kids, that awesome new exercise class you have taken, your garage sale, items you wish to sell, great recipe, funny video, sentimental poem, great gift ideas, important safety information, etc.  We also LOVE to receive announcements (birth, press coverage of a local mom or business, etc) and will always be happy to post them.  You can submit your requests to us at kristy@parkcityjane.com  ATTN:  Jane's List Item.  Please make sure that you give us plenty of advance notice (we require a week in advance to guarantee posting your information).

Note regarding products featured in our list:  all of the products written about in Jane's List have been 'test-driven' by our editors, subscribers or friends and family who have NO affiliation with the product editorialized.  If you have a product/book/restaurant, etc you would like our editors to consider writing about, please let us know.  We are always happy to have you send us something for one of our reporters to 'field test' for review for potential inclusion in one of our letters.

You Spoke And We Listened:  We will be coming out with special editions to serve local schools, daycares and camps based upon YOUR requests.  These issues will be only one time per year (i.e. the 'Camp' issue will come out in May, the 'Daycare' issue in August and 'Preschool' issue TBA--we could use your input on this one).  If this is something you would like to be included in, please shoot us an email labeled ATTN:  Special Edition and we will send you more details as they become available.

And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone--that would be lame.
