The Times of Harvey Milk A
free showing of a true story that was shown at the 1985 Sundance Film
Festival and is set in San Francisco in the 1970's, and will be shown
June 3rd at 7 pm at the Jim Santy Auditorium. It tells of the
extraordinary rise to power of Harvey Milk, a long-haired gay camera
store owner who became one of the city's most colorful and influential
elected officials as well as one of the decade's most prominent leaders
of the lesbian and gay rights movements, until his murder. This is a
moving affirmation and revelation of how one man can make a
difference. HYPERLINK "http://www.sundance.org"
Toddler Laptop Is your toddler obsessed with the computer? Ours was and it started to become a problem when he'd use it by himself -we were afraid that he'd unintentionally ruin it. Then, one day some friends came to visit. They brought along with them their VTech computer and my son was bewitched. He didn't want to hang with them, he didn't want to eat dinner, he didn't want dessert-all he wanted was to play with this computer. The computer is portable, so it's perfect for long car trips, airplane rides, waiting in the doctor's office-you name it. And the best part? It's totally educational. It has 30 different games and activities to help your child learn his letters, numbers, and how to work a mouse. And the even better part? It's under $25.00!! Unbelievable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E1PY6U?ie=UTF8&tag=bremam-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000E1PY6U
40th Anniversary Woodstock Celebration Put on your bell bottom pants and tie-dyed shirts and be a part of KPCW's celebration of the 40th anniversary of the greatest rock concert ever - WOODSTOCK. KPCW is going to have food, beverages, brownies (we guess they are probably not the good, 1960's variety), a 1969 costume contest and a screening of the classic documentary "WOODSTOCK: 3 DAYS OF PEACE AND MUSIC" at the Egyptian Theatre. This fun-filled event takes place on Main Street, Saturday June 27th from 6 p.m. to Midnight. The cost is a $40 contribution with all proceeds supporting KPCW. Call (435) 649-9004 for details and tickets.
Feline Frenzy At Furburbia Spring has arrived along with endless litters of kittens. Friends of Animals would like to make sure all of our kitties at Furburbia get the homes they deserve SO they are celebrating "Feline Frenzy Days". Every week several kitties in need of good homes will be featured with special adoption fees. Come and meet the furry gang at Furburbia and "Please Don't Litter" spay and neuter your pets.
