MOVEMENT and the LUPUS PATIENT
For people living with lupus and other chronic illnesses, the very thought of exercising can be painful. They're tired, their joints ache, and they just want to rest. But research shows that movement and exercise can help patients to build stronger muscles, prevent joint stiffness, control fatigue and avoid weight gain.
LFNC has partnered with ReganMoves (TM) to provide the opportunity for lupus patients to consider an exercise program that can complement their own management of their disease. Developed by Regan Mizuno, herself a lupus patient, a mechanical engineer and certified fitness instructor, this exercise program aims to help those who suffer from fatigue and joint pain to regain the freedom of movement. See short video below.
LFNC is offering free demonstration classes to its subschapters and support groups, with the goal of eventually offering the program on a more regular basis. In the meantime, interested patients can also contact Regan directly at (720) 470-8049, or by email.
Additional information is also available via the LFNC Web site or the ReganMoves Web site.
