California Legislature Tackles Arbitrary Insurance Rate Hikes.
In California, decisions on health insurance rate increases are left soley to the whims of insurance companies. Many individuals and families have, in recent years, experienced hardships as a result of the skyrocketing price of health insurance.
A new bill -- Assembly Bill 52 -- was recently passed by the California Assembly that would give the state the power it needs to protect Californians from arbitrary rate increases and keep health insurance premiums affordable. Authored by Assembly member Mike Feuer, 42nd District, the bill will now be considered in the California Senate.
