Special Media Event: Woodside Day of the Horse 2011 Kickoff,
March 2, 2011
 Now in its seventh year, Woodside Day of the Horse is a fun-filled Town Horse Fair and Trail Ride made possible by a public-private partnership designed to keep the unique past of Woodside and the surrounding communities alive. It draws participants from all over California to ride in one of the largest trail rides in the Western United States, enjoying a glimpse of rural America right in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Trail Ride and the Horse Fair combined attract nearly 2,000 people to Woodside each year on the second Saturday in October.  Horses, Chocolate and Facebook Ads -

Yesterday, I saw an ad on Facebook that caught my eye. The headline said "Broodmare Leases" and had a picture of what appeared to be a top quality mare free jumping a big oxer in excellent form. I have a pretty nice stallion and had been thinking about leasing rather than buying mares. The problem is, I never have time to do much horse hunting. Cal Equestrian Team Competes For The First Time
Freshly instated as an official club sport, Cal Equestrian made its grand debut at the Hunt Seat Equitation Horse Show at Stanford on February 4. The team competes through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) against schools in the region, including Stanford, UC Davis, Sonoma State and Cal Poly San Louis Obispo. The club did remarkably well in all divisions, Beginner through Open, and brought home hard-earned ribbons. Click here to read the full article.
