Hang this homemade
treat in your horse's
stall to relieve winter boredom, or wrap it as
a stocking stuffer.

You'll need:
2 cups corn syrup
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 cups corn meal
½ cup finely crushed sugar-free peppermints
3 cups sweet feed
2 well greased mini angel food cake pans

Combine corn syrup and sugar over medium heat until sugar has dissolved. Cover and cook for about 8 minutes. Uncover and cook until about 300 degrees or "hard-crack" stage. Turn off heat.

Slowly add corn meal and sweet feed, alternating between the two, until completely combined and well coated. Pour into
mini angel food cake pans and let cool completely.
If done correctly, the result is a very hard treat. Loop a rope through the center hole and hang at a safe height away from the wall or any surface the horse can pin it against.
