KATHARINA SCHMOLLY - The European Riding Academy at RDLA, Castro Valley

Rancho de los AmigosMy mission is to offer individuals interested in horsemanship internationally recognized education, standardized by the FEI, including theory, ground work, horse handling skills, seat work, basic riding skills in English dressage and jumping. I became FEI certified up to 2nd level in Austria and have been taught riding in European Riding Schools, which offer a mix of theory and riding. My emphasis lays on the proper seat, which is the key for safe and successful riding. The other important part of my lesson is Handling and Theory - you will learn everything from correct and safe horse handling and groundwork over tacking up and grooming to basic medical care, nutrition, horse behavior and breeds. I teach all ages starting at 8 and all levels. This program is especially suitable for beginning riders as well as for riders from all disciplines wanting to improve and develop their elementary dressage skills. After the completion of this program, every rider will be able to ride a horse safely and independently in all three basic gaits in an arena as well as on a trail. Beginners of any age are always welcome. It is never too late or too early to obtain this wonderful skill of riding horses! School horses are available.
