 Gwynn Turnbull Weaver, one of the
founders of the nationally acclaimed
Californios Ranch
Roping and Stock Horse Contest, grew up in California submerged in the horse
industry. She experimented with many different disciplines from rail classes to
cow horses to English, working for cutting horse trainers and as a movie
wrangler and stunt woman in the L.A. film industry. When she finally hit on the
traditions of old California including fine bridle horses, low stress stock
handling and traditional roping, she knew she had come home. "They say that humans are attracted to
balance", Gwynn says. "There isn't anyone who can't take this home with them and strive
for it with their horse in the show ring or on the trail, regardless of their discipline."
