Francis Marion University Graduates Its Tenth Class of Nonprofit Leaders
It's not easy tackling a seven-month long training program when you are working full-time.
So, hats off to FMU Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NPLI) recent grads, pictured above, including participants in SCANPO's recently completed, federally funded Strengthening Communities Initiative.
SCANPO's Guiding Principles & Best Practices are an integral part of the NPLI course curriculum, as are guest lectures and case studies. Check out NPLI to review program requirement/schedule and its growing alumnae network of nonprofit leaders from across the state. Apply now for the 2012-2013 session.
As we roll out the new edition of the Guiding Principles, SCANPO seeks to collaborate with academic institutions and others to provide nonprofit leaders training closer to home.

Looking for an inspirational summer read? We recently picked up a copy of Start Something That Matters written by the founder of the wildly successful Toms Shoes.
"When you have a memorable story about who you are and what your mission is, your success no longer depends on how experienced you are or how many degrees you have or who you know. A good story transcends boundaries, breaks barriers, and opens doors." (pg 25)
Whether you are looking to start a social enterprise, have a more fulfilling job or just live a socially and environmentally responsible life, Start Something That Matters will help get you there.

Ready to start marketing your upcoming learning opportunities for nonprofit professionals and volunteer leaders? First step, post your sessions on SCANPO's training calendar.
The calendar includes SCANPO sponsored events and many more statewide and local professional and volunteer development events offered by our members, including our Grantmaker and Business Partners. We do not include community activities or fundraising events. We also include trainings offered by SC academic institutions, local AFP chapters, SC affiliate groups and national resources we have vetted. So start posting and planning your team's professional development.
