Truth Behind Swine Flu
The Truth
The truth of the matter is that during the past pandemics of Swine flu, more people died from the Swine flu vaccines than from Swine flu itself.
In the 1918 pandemic, most people who were thought to have died from the flu
actually died from secondary bacterial infections, such as Strep pneumoniae.
Today, we have many treatment options for bacterial infections including Strep; so the risk
of death is much less than in the 1900's.
Every year, approximately 25-50 million cases of the flu are reported leading to 30-40,000 deaths per year in U.S. alone. Majority of the flu cases including the swine flu are self-limiting (which means people usually fight the infection off on their own without treatment). We then begin to wonder if the media outburst about the Swine flu is more political and economically motivated rather than a health concern.
Nevertheless, we all want to
protect ourselves against catching this flu and future ones....and taking
pharmaceutical antivirals, such as Tamiflu, is not the way to go.
The Facts
To date, 298 schools have been closed in the US as a result of the current swine flu scare. More than $251 million dollars are being spent on anti-viral medications by the US government to address the scare rather than the reality. Cases of Swine flu have been reported in 11 countries. 250 cases of the flu have been confirmed world-wide.
The Symptoms of Swine Flu

Runny nose
Joint and muscle pain
Severe headach
Vomiting and/or diarrhea occasionally
Fatigue and lethargy
Loss of appetite
Prevention is the Key
What can you do to prevent the Swine
flu? Here are some important preventative steps to take to protect yourself and
your family. The key is to boost your immune system.
1) Wash your hands frequently
2) Avoid crowded, busy places if possible
3) Get enough sleep at a regular time every night
4) Drink lots of clean water to continually flush toxins out
5) Avoid the foods to which you are allergic and sensitive
6) Avoid sugar, alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and processed carbs
7) Keep your vitamin D levels up - the average person needs 3000iu
of Vitamin D3 per day (so get your vitamin D 25OH levels checked by
your doctor. The levels should be 80-100)
8) Take a certified mercury-free fish oil and omega 3 regularly
9) Eat raw garlic and onions daily
10) Try homeopathic medicines for prevention (such as homeopathic Mucococcinum). If you do come down with initial symptoms of the flu, try
homeopathic Gelsemium or Bryonia or Aconite.
11) Take mushroom extracts (such as Mycoimmune tinctures) daily to keep your immune system up.
12) Get your daily dose of electrolytes (Make sure it is free of sugar and food coloring)
13) If possible, avoid hospitals.
14) Vaccines may not be a great idea
I've Got the Symptoms, Now What?
Don't panic! Stress gets your immune system down and helps the infection take over. So stay calm.
Contact
your health care provider or come in to see one of our physicians for
an exam. Your doctor will take a blood test and swab your throat and
nasal passages to send to the lab.
in the mean time, 1) Rest 2) Take Muco Coccinum tablets 3-4 times per day 3) Drink lots of fluids 4) Take a warm bath and follow it with the "Wet Sock Treatment" 5) Continue taking preventative measures as listed above
Tamiflu
Tamiflu is an anti-flu medication that causes more side-effects than
good. Convulsions and death, especially
in children, is a common and frequent side effect of Tamiflu. If you
have the flu and you take Tamiflu, it can signficantly
increase the risk of secondary infections, such as Strep, leading to
complications of pneumonia, heart failure and finally, death.
The Non-Toxic Treatment
There
are much better ways of treating the flu, including swine flu, that don't increase your risk of convulsions, complications, and death. By
boosting your immune system, your chances of catching the flu
diminishes significantly. If you do come down with the flu, see your
naturopathic physician or one of us at Holistique Medical Center to
help you fight the flu naturally.
Universality
The current anxiety about the swine flu is a reminder of the oneness of our world. The truth is that in reality there are no borders between nations, that viruses can travel anywhere. The borders we have created are purely man-made and a source of division and anxiety for all of humanity. The time has come for us to arise beyond our thoughts of prejudice and division, beyond our hunger for power, and beyond our fears. The time has come for humanity as a whole to unite and see the world as "one country and mankind its citizens."
