The Key to Breast Cancer Screening
Are you worried about getting breast cancer because your grandmother or sister had it? How can you find out if you have changes happening in your breast tissue BEFORE cancer sets in?
Do you get severe PMS and can't figure out what is going on? What about menopause - hormones are changing so fast and you don't know how to deal with them?
Breast thermography along with saliva or urine hormone testing may be the answer to all your questions regarding breast health, prevention, and hormone regulation.
What is Thermography? Thermography
is
an image of the temperature patterns in a given tissue.
Thermography uses a highly sensitive infrared camera to
image minute temperature changes occurring in the tiny capillaries of
the body. Thermography is well researched and was approved by the FDA
for use as a supportive breast cancer screening tool in 1982.
What does Thermography tell me? A
thermograph can indicate an abnormal underlying process in the tissue.
Hot areas on the thermograph may be an initial sign of stress to
the tissue. Stress can lead to cancer, pain, inflammation, and hormonal
or metabolic
conditions.
An infrared picture gives us a different look at the circulation and heat within the breast tissue. Using thermography, we can tell if the circulation is even to both breasts or not (an indication which may mean one side is more at risk for certain conditions). When there is heat in an area of the breast tissue, we get concerned especially if there is a palpable mass. If there is no mass on examination, we watch for any changes on subsequent thermographs.
Let's not miss it! With Breast thermography, early detection of the initial changes in
breast tissue is possible. Studies have shown thermography, when used
as part of a multimodal approach (clinical
examination + mammography + thermography), increases early stage cancer
detection by 97%.
Be Proactive not reactive! If there is heat (and no mass), we take preventative measures to reduce the heat, thereby reducing the risk. Furthermore, if you are on a treatment plan for hormones, breast cancer, or breast cancer prevention, thermography can be used to tell if you are responding well to the treatment plan.
How safe is it?
Thermography does not cause discomfort or pose a risk
to safety as there is no radiation involved. It is safe and
non-invasive. Thermography can be used frequently to monitor response
to treatment.

The Perfect Combo
The Hormone Test Saliva and urine hormone tests are the most accurate ways of testing for hormone levels (more accurate than blood test). These tests tell us the hormones being excreted.
Thermography tells us the heat patterns in the tissue. Certain heat patterns may indicate hormone imbalance in the tissue. Some studies have shown 50% more hormones exist in breast tissue than in plasma blood levels alone.
Why Need Both? Sometimes, there may be lots of hormones in the breast tissue and not enough being excreted into saliva or urine. This situation puts you at the highest risk for breast cancer. Bio-identical hormone replacement should not be given in this case as the risk for breast cancer can be increased. Instead, the breast tissue needs to be detoxed from the excess hormone supply.
However, if there are low levels of hormones in the breast tissue and low levels excreted in urine or saliva, you need and can most likely use bio-identical hormone therapy safely.
Where can I find the Perfect Combo? Holistique Medical Center is your perfect hormone and breast cancer prevention, assessment and treatment center. We use the highest sensitive thermography camera along with urine/saliva tests to figure out if you need and can use hormone therapy safely.
Because we are committed to providing technologically advanced, non-invasive, radiation-free diagnostics, we are pleased to introduce the most sensitive medical thermography imaging to Western Washington. Thermography is an FDA-approved breast cancer screening imaging procedure that is making a recent resurgence in North America. We use the most advanced and sensitive infrared camera available today in the medical field for thermography (Spectron IR). Our camera can provide for the earliest detection of suspicious processes in the breast tissue.
Our Holistique physicians order saliva or urine tests along with thermography before prescribing any hormone therapy to assure you of the safest and most necessary treatments.
