Therapeutic Supplements
When infection occurs, nutritonal supplements may be recommended to decrease the duration of discomfort. Zinc Lozenges are a good choice to sooth the symptoms of sore throats in addition to decreasing the duration of infection.

Thymunose contains a plethora of nutrient materials which mimic bacteria cell coats and helps stimulate the immune system response.  The addtional melatonin in Thymunose independently encourages immunity by speeding immune cell maturation.
Add C Drastically
Vitamin C functions as both the catalyst for oxidation of viral and bacterial particles and as a major protective agent against human cell oxidation during infection.  The requirement for vitamin C increases drastically during infections.

Greetings!

Whew!  Can you believe February is almost over?!  This winter has certainly brought with it cold temperatures and a rough flu season.  Cold, wet weather drives people indoors, which discourages physical activity and drastically inhibits vitamin D3 biosynthesis.  Whether you are still recovering from the busy holidays or are trying to avoid the next round of common infections, colds and the flu, we are here to help.

To support a healthy season, we recommend some basic nutritional supplements for you.  These are formulated to augment healthy diet choices and reduce the change of infection when we succumb to sweet temptations.

We carry a number of products from Anabolic Laboratories to help you.  To learn more about each, feel free to click the links below.
Prevention Foundation:
Nutritional improvement should begin with a high quality multivitamin.  A broad-based multivitamin supplement helps ensure a variety of the essential vitamins, minerals and other micro-nutrients.  While multivitamins normally provide plenty of mico-nutrients, such as vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B 12, they can not ensure adequate amounts of some nutrients and minerals required in larger quantities.  Several of these are magnesium for bones and blood pressure, omega-3 fatty acids for cell walls, Vitamin C for detoxifying reactive oxygen species (ROS) and vitamin D3 for controlling the human immune response and calcium metabolism.

Omega-3 rich fish oil helps balance the essential fatty acids ratio away from an overabundance of the omega-6 forms towards a 1:1 ratio for better health.  Our fast food lifestyle  is rich in the inflammatory omega-6 forms: these exacerbate the aches and pains assoicated with the flu and colds.  Supplementation with omega-3 oils will help significantly reduce but not cure, the symptoms of these almost inevitable illnesses.

An overlooked fundamental of a healthy winter is Magnesium.  This metal stimulates the biosynthesis of immune antibiodies (lgG) by specialized immune cells and also activates the DNA and RNA nucleotide destroying abilities of special LgGs.  These are the recently discovered antinucleotide antibodies which kill viruses that cause colds and the flu.

Recent research proves additional Vitamin D3 is necessary for most Americans of all skin hues, espcially during the winter months.  Those supplementing with this key vitamin, which controls cell growth, suffer less infections, fewer bone breaks and lower mortality than those going without.  Health professionals are now considering a significant raise for the D3 RDI.
