 The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber (Hispanic Chamber) will hold the annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration to celebrate the many contributions that Latinos have made to the United States.

 

The Hispanic Chamber will present ¡BRAVO! Awards.  These awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that are role models and have contributed to the economic and social advancement of Latinos in Oregon and southwest Washington.  

 

The keynote speaker at this event is Ramona Romero, General Counsel, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (Pres. Obama Appointee), Washington D.C.

 

The event also will include a Silent Auction to benefit the Latino Scholarship Program, and recognition of the graduating Latino Leadership Class VI  and the incoming Class VII.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
RAMONA ROMERO, GENERAL COUNSEL,
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

Ramona Romero will give the keynote address at the Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Oregon Convention Center.

As the General Counsel of the United States Department of Agriculture, Ramona Emilia Romero is the principal legal advisor to Secretary Tom Vilsack and other Department officials.

President Obama nominated her on June 28, 2010 and she was confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate on December 22, 2010.

Ms. Romero serves as the Chief Legal Officer of the USDA and oversees the work of about 300 legal professionals who provide legal advice and support to all components of the Department. Ms. Romero reports directly to the Secretary.
