SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS LUNCHEON

The Hispanic Chamber will award $115,500 in scholarships to 47 Latino students at the Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 4th at the Convention Center in Portland. The scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,500 and are based on academic merit and community service.
Yvonne Curtis, Superintendent of the Forest Grove School District, will give the keynote address.
Curtis began her teaching career 30 years ago as an elementary teacher in San Diego and later taught in the Bend-LaPine School District. She began her administrative career as assistant principal of Jefferson County Middle School in Madras moving to principal of Terrebonne Elementary School in Redmond.
Curtis remains committed to the work of transforming our public school system into one that graduates every student with the knowledge and skills they need for a successful life. To read more about Yvonne Curtis, please click here.
