John M. Haroldson, the first Latino District Attorney in Oregon, will address Members at the Annual Membership Luncheon

John M. Haroldson
will address Chamber members at the Annual Membership Luncheon in June.  Haroldson was elected Benton County District Attorney in November 2008, following his appointment in February 2007 by Governor Ted Kulongoski.  Prior to his appointment, he served as Benton County's Chief Deputy District Attorney, a position he held since 2002.  Haroldson began his prosecution career in 1988 as an intern-prosecutor for the City of Albany and later as a Linn County Deputy District Attorney.

Recognized by the Oregon Crime Victims Assistance Network and the Oregon Humane Society for excellence in prosecution, Haroldson has distinguished himself as a prosecutor.  He serves as adjunct faculty for Willamette University School of Law and the National College of District Attorneys.

Haroldson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Central Washington University and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon.  He is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bar Associations.  For more information regarding the Benton County DA, please click here.

Latino Leadership Program - Accepting Applications! 
 
Latino Leadership Class IV
Latino Leadership Class IV
Each year, a class of up to 20 selected individuals participate in a 12-month Hispanic Chamber Leadership class.  The program enhances the leadership and management skills of Latino leaders to position them to continue their advancement in their employment while also promoting community leadership through volunteerism on public boards and commissions. 
 
Qualifications and the Selection Process:

Any Latino who supports the mission of the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber (Hispanic Chamber) can apply.  Past scholarship recipients of the Hispanic Chamber Scholarship Program are encouraged to apply.

 

Participants must complete a formal program application and all attachments.  Participants are selected on their own merits.  A Selection Committee will recommend individuals to participate in the annual program.  The Hispanic Chamber governs the Latino Leadership Program.
